Recently visited the Isle of Mull over Christmas and the new year and the magical Calgary Bay. Walked from the bay following the sea out, endless rocks to climb and explore with the sea spraying against them ( great for kids ) out to the old pier and the volcanic fault, that could easily be mistaken for a stone built... You are going to have to work to get to this beach. It's a long drive on very narrow -- often one lane -- roads across the island. Allow two hours. But the scenery is absolutely breath-taking the whole way. There's history and natural beauty around every bend in the road. So, just take your time and realize that this... More

Unfortunatly the weather on 1st January was wild but this did not stop us having a very enjoyable walk along tghe coast line of the bay. Well worth a visit whilst on the island.

Went with my wife whilst staying on Mull, it was the tail end of the storm, but still looked gorgeous. I can imagine it would get very busy here in summer.

Spent a November weekend near Calgary Bay in Limetree Cottage. Beautifully designed open-plan living with spectacular views towards the beach. Warm tiled floors, log burner and lots of little extras which made our stay comfortable and relaxed. Owners very friendly and happy to answer our questions regarding the design of the house. Enjoyed the Sculpture Trail in the woods nearby.

This is a truly unspoilt area. There is a profusion of very Scottish colours and some interesting wildlife. The sea is always a source of interest, there are seals and dolphins to watch and inland across the bracken, heather and moorland expanses the buzzards and Eagles sail.

I find myself dreaming of this expanse of empty white sand a lot since our return. Just loved every second of the beauty, fresh air and peace of the place. My little one couldn't get enough of the rocks! A truly stunning place that is worth the journey to see. Wish I could live there....

We have been to this stunning beach a few times and make an annual visit to it every October on Rally week. We have always been lucky with the weather, however not been hot enough yet to test out the waters properly. Would always recommend and always good for a family day out :).
