We visited this small distillery as part of our trip with Norwegian Friends. In fact this visit to the distillery was the whole reason for visiting Lewis, as it was only officially opened 2 years ago - a brand new one! Marko runs this distillery, and we had one of the best times of our entire two week trip in the Outer Hebrides visiting his outfit and talking with him. He is friendly, approachable, and wonderfully opinionated--particularly about whisky. This of course is a recipe for a very fun afternoon.
The easiest draught to purchase (okay, right now, the only one)...

I'd heard about the distillery from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society magazine so was determined to pop in when I was up in Lewis in August. Uig is a stunning location no matter what your development is, but with pure water & air, the single malt whisky being launched in October will be heavenly!!
