We both enjoy good country walks & here ticks all the boxs. Our dog has a fabulous time. Chatelherault centre is well laid out & informative.

Great place for a walk, we walked over the Dukes Bridge, down through Barncluith and Smithycroft, and back up the Avon walkway. The cafe at Chatelherault has superior snacks and is a pleasant place to eat. The broccoli and stilton soup was yummy.

A lovely and quiet area. The Lodge itself is well-worth visiting and if this were in the Midlands you'd have to pay to go around it! We could even sit in the comfy chairs in the rooms and just stay and talk and admire the decorative plaster work on the ceilings. In the Midlands it would all be roped off... More

This is a favourite with my husband and I; we frequently walk around the grounds and sometimes walk from Chatelherault to Strathclyde Park and back. Would highly recommend for a varied and interesting walk taking in both forest and fields. I have never been in the house itself but intend to do so in the near future.

Never knew this existe till a friend advised it was a great place to visit. Went during winter so house was great but gardens would be better in the Spring or Summer. Stunning house and gardens and a good educational area on the history of the house and gardens. Loved it. Will be back in the spring.

Great place to go for a walk or a run. A variety of routes to be taken. Some of the climbs can be challenging as can the underfoot conditions, but very enjoyable and scenic. Refreshment facilities available

Go here regularly with a group of friends. A couple of us have dogs and this is a great place for both people and dogs to go walking with various routes to choose from. We also have had quite a few visitors from abroad visit and they love the history, the scenery and the general beauty of the whole park.
