This place is a must see. I grew up in Hamilton and can remember this place in the 1960s when it was in ruins. A marvelous restoration job and well worth a visit. The views towards Hamilton from the front of the hunting lodge are amazing. There is a decent cafe inside that is reasonably priced. There are several good... More

When we arrived we were greeted very nicely by an employee and thought we'd struck gold by turning up to Chatelherault for a coffee break on our cycle ride. Except the cafe was expensive and the barista forgot to add the coffee to my mocha! Cakes looked good from far away, but up close I wasn't going to buy any!... More

Have been to Chatelherault Country Park many times over the years. From just visiting the 'big house' - the Duke of Hamilton 's Hunting Lodge, getting married there, going walks whether short or long to watching the children play in the play area or kicking a ball about in one of the open green spaces. There's a cafe though you... More

Beautiful building, rebuilt some years ago. Was a hunting lodge for the Dukes of Hamilton, known as the most elaborate dog kennels in the world. Visit not only to see the building but the grounds are wonderful with lovely walks .

Decided to visit on a whim one boring Sunday. Glad I did. Great 'free' visitors centre with a nice cafe n gift shop. Plenty of walks round about. We walked round the back of the castle and ended up in the woods looking for bears n beasties with the kids. Fab park for the wee ones also(and big ones!) will... More

Great place to walk around the grounds to see the impressive house, bridge & ruins of Cadzow Castle. The house is a wonderful building with food & gift shops inside. We went close to closing time & the staff clearly wanted us out asap & weren't friendly which was a pity.

Great play park and nature walks, cafe is clean and not too expensive. Lovely gift shop and small museum, lots of things for the kids to look at and get involved in. If the big house isn't being used then it's usually open to walk around, maybe not a good idea if u suffer from vertigo or anything similar though... More

We often take guests here when they visit Hamilton for the first time. Great views, a choice of three pleasant walks through the woods, castle ruins and a small museum with access to some rooms in the lodge. There's a playground for the kids and a reasonably priced cafeteria, good for a couple of hours
