Great play park and nature walks, cafe is clean and not too expensive. Lovely gift shop and small museum, lots of things for the kids to look at and get involved in. If the big house isn't being used then it's usually open to walk around, maybe not a good idea if u suffer from vertigo or anything similar though... More

We often take guests here when they visit Hamilton for the first time. Great views, a choice of three pleasant walks through the woods, castle ruins and a small museum with access to some rooms in the lodge. There's a playground for the kids and a reasonably priced cafeteria, good for a couple of hours

Lovely walks, the lodge is fun to visit and free, has a shop, cafe and a little museum with interesting things to catch, it also has a adventure park for the kids.

Didn't know much about Chatelherault but had a great day out with my wife. The property was a hunting lodge for the Duke of Hamilton. It was badly neglected but was restored. They have very nice country park grounds. There is a castle a short walk away and information on the Hamilton Family. Well worth a trip. Recommended.

This is one of my favourite places. Stunning open views across Hamilton and beyond with the Campsie Hills in the distance. The building and visitor centre is great for all ages and plenty of activities inside. The gardens are ideal to have pictures taken and are often used for wedding photographs they are so good. There is a glen and... More

Beautiful settings. Cafe ok, but really busy during school holidays. Food always good. Shop has a good stock of gifts but too much jewellery.

Fantastic place, tastefully integrated with nature. The main building is beautiful as is the gardens, lovely walks throughout the grounds and great park for kids and big kids alike.

Ive been here numerous times over the years with with my in laws and my own parents. The grounds are immaculate, the views over Hamilton and Glasgow are stunning and the main building is a wonder to behold. Never tire of the theatre of this place and the grandeur that it exudes despite the fact that the useable spaces in... More

I've been visiting for many years, in fact, since I was a child. The hunting lodge is a nice place to visit, but not frequently as it's quite small and once you've seen it, you've seen it! There's a cafe and toilet facilities, and the venue is a nice place for a wedding, which you see now and then during... More

Chatelherault was a ruin when I knew it as a child. The buildings, which at one time housed the hunting lodge and kennels of the Duke of Hamilton, are set in extensive grounds, well used by walkers. The buildings consist of the house, an exhibition area, a café and gift shop and gardens. They often run cheap activities for children... More
