Chatelherault is on a fabulous setting on a hill with great views over to Glasgow and the Campsies. There's a good choice of walks (mostly in woods) of varying lengths, although once you move away from the house I think it would be a bit more restrictive for people with limited mobility. Built to house the Duke of Hamilton's hunting horses and dogs, including banqueting hall - the building has settled in the past and it is quite disconcerting when walking through parts as I actually felt a little seasick! Kiddie play area ,tearoom grounds, museum aimed at Kids level , Really super spot . We have been visiting for over 20 years still a great spot & well worth a visit.

My oldest loves this place and so do I the walks are fantastic and can play loads of games during them my son didn't even realise we walked 5 miles! The walks are only part of it the park and the history of the place are great for any family to keep the kids entertained and not spend much money

The Old Lodge where once The Duke of Hamilton kept his hunting dogs has been restored and looks beautiful and has very pleasant gardens to the rear.
