A great day out for all the family. Make it a day visit in order to get around everything from the museums to the 'Annie McLeod' experience, when you are given a ride back in time with information about what life was like back then at the time of the Industrial Revolution. Take a camera for taking pictures of the... more

My last trip to New Lanark was during the early nineties as a primary school child. We returned recently thinking we'd get an interesting day out. There's no doubt that the village has been beautifully preserved and it's an incredible achievement that it was saved from the derelict state it was in at the end of the 1960s. There's a... more

The added bonus to visiting this site is the walk you can take along the river bank to where the peregrines have their nest (at the right time of year). More to see than you initially think (and the Annie Lennox ride is well worth going on) although the roof garden is very small - not as exciting as it... more

I visited New Lanark in August 2005 and it was awesome. The rural setting by the River Clyde is remote and challenge to get to, but well worth the trip. It has Disney quality audio-visual attractions to learn what life was like for the people who lived and worked there during the early days of the Industrial Revolution as well... more

I thought that this site was really good. It is very authentic and has various attractions, from the eerie annie, a resident of the village when it was still up and running, to the school room. Although quite difficult to get to, it's great for tourists and Scots. I went for my birthday a few years ago with some friends.... more

First I must point out that this wonderful World Heritage site is a very long way from Stirling - it is much nearer to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and its nearest Airport is probably Glasgow. Now that that is put right, let me tell you what a wonderful place this is to visit. I have been today, September 30th 2003, and... more
