Make sure you take a caddy and ask them about the history of the course. Worth playing twice to let the experience of the first round sink in. In the clubhouse it is possible to book a meal in the committee room (only on certain days of the week) - worth trying for.

The golf was fantastic. The course is very enjoyable and challenging. The starter, caddies and on course staff were excellent. There are some lovely holes and good layouts. The club offers a complementary photograph at the start of the round which is ready for you at the end, which is a lovely touch. Lunch was Ok although the clubhouse restaurant... More

We played Prestwick on a warm relatively calm day. Our caddies said it was the best day they had had all summer so far. This is the home of The Open. It held the first 25 Opens, but hasn't held one since 1925. The course is just that an old old links style Scottish course. A lot going on all... More

I had terrific experience playing at Prestwick Golf Course. The birthplace of the Open Championship. The opening hole is tight but short as you play away from the club house you know that you're in a special place. The finish over the last 5 holes is one of the best group of holes I've played.

Thank you for your kind sentiments - the 18th is a great hole and offers a real opportunity to end your round with a birdie. More

Classic…site of the first Open in the 1860's. Played on a windy day…very challenging…caddies were locals who were very knowledgable.

This is where the "Open" started and still an interesting and playable golf course. Traditional links that you have to hit fairly straight shots on, is a bit quirky with loads of fun. Take at least a stroke saver with your first game, the caddies are worth a few shots. Fantastic clubhouse experience with good food and a lovely bar... More

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your round at Prestwick. Your advice about taking a caddie is quite correct - they will make you enjoy your round so much more and try to keep you on the straight and narrow! More

And with that warm statement from Bobby the Starter (in his dapper jacket and tie), we were off. But first, we posed for our complimentary photo (a nice touch). This is a place that exudes history and class and treated us as if we were regular members. The course is one of a kind, with very unique holes (and quite... More

We played this course on a cold windy day with a little bit of rain. We had local caddies who helped a lot. We could not have played this course without them. They even gave us the name of a good local restaurant. This course has a lot of blind shots and quirky holes but that is what makes it... More

Fantastic course in great condition, some hidden bunkers and quirky holes so would recommend a stroke saver as a minimum. Great clubhouse facilities, friendly pro shop and the lunch experience was very traditional with very attentive staff. Would recommend a visit.
