We thoroughly our tour of Scapa Flow with tour company Orkney Uncovered. We agree with last review you definitely need to tour guide to show you around as it is a massive area of water. Our tour included viewing points of Scapa Flow, the history from the 1500's to WWI, WWII and beyond. We also visited the area where HMS... More

Do this as part of a tour with a guide and hear the stories of war time and how important this sea was.

We had the delight in seeing a lot of Scapa Flow when we were on a private tour with Orkney Uncovered. We feel that you can great a great view from the top of a hill called Scorradale. We also did a coastal walk at a RSPB bird reserve called Hobbister. About 3.5km so you need to be fit! Lots... More

A beautiful bay. We saw it from just outside Scapa, on an early July morning. Windy and gusts of rain, but we still had a very nice - if somewhat brief - picnic/breakfast by the beach. Made for a perfect start to the day.

Definitely one of the must-see sights on the island, especially if you're interested in the Orkney's wartime history.

While on a guided tour of Orkney I had the chance to see many interesting areas around Scapa Flow including some amazing viewing points, over Scapa Flow towards the island of Hoy and Flotta. It is really quite amazing that this area of water was so important in supporting the allied victories in WWI and WWII. I was taken by... More

I had heard of Scapa Flow and it had cropped up in story books but to see it and have the history told to you by a local was amazing, The building of the barriers was an ingenious idea but it did not stop the detemined and this affected the lives of many, all of whom are remembered with respect.... The diving is fantastic and the knowledge of skipper Emily is second to none. Her dive breifings are incredibly detailed and only come with years of experience diving those wrecks. Her knowledge of diving and her manner in sharing that knowledge is fantastic. As a group we had an outstanding week! The food on the boat is well worth the... More

I just recently dropped by the Scapa Flow to do some diving with the dive boat "Radiant Queen". It was a very good experience that I would like to do again and recomend. They had a very nice and good boat rigged for diving, with even a diver elevator. The lunch they served was splendid and fantastic service. Air, gas... More
