The views are Spectacular but at the time I was here there was still a lot of run down parts in the area and it was also winter. During the Spring & Summer months this place is fantastic & the views are to die for.

There is nothing at Lyle hill other than the Free French Monument which is a large white anchor but the views are stunning and worth a look if you are passing.

The views from the Lyle Hill are amazing , you can see all the way up the river to Glasgow and across the Clyde to Argyll any visitor to Greenock should make the effort to go, it is easily accessible on foot from Fort Matilda train station if you are moderately fit.

There is only one thing to do from here, sit and look at the view, which is really lovely on a sunny day

When you look out over the river the view is just amazing as it changes from minute to minute depending on the weather truly stunning

A monument to French Submariners who died in the Clyde during WW2 maks still one of the most outstanding view points in Scotland. Indeed, it would be hard to think of a better outlook anywhere in the world.
