Many people believe that this brooding lake in Northern Scotland, 21 square miles in size at an average depth of 800 feet, could certainly hide a large dinosaur-like "monster," the lake's long-time and elusive resident.

Loch Ness will never get so many tourists if not for the monster mystery. We visited on a rainy day, took a Jacobite cruise to the castle and back. It is neither scenic nor colourful. Will not return. If I ever come back to Scotland, I hope to visit a more beautiful lake.

The stories of the monster in Loch Ness are charming and draw people all over the world to see the lake. But the thing is, there isn't a monster and it's just a lake. The boat ride was nice and told you a bit about the legend and the properties of the lake. Be sure to bring cash in Scotland.... More

I'm surprised that some of the reviews aren't better. Loch Ness is impressive with beautiful scenery. The water is almost black adding to the mystic of the loch. We drove round parts of it most days as we travelled to various places. The scenery continued to impress.

Loch with magical atmosphere. Nice mountains around. When is cloudy and fog above the water and look hard, you can see exactly what you want.. Is there.

Apart from the lure of Nessie, the monster in Loch Ness, the lake itself is a sight to behold. It is long and deep. Our tour guide told us that if they drained Loch Ness they could fit all the people in the world x 10 in the loch. Can you imagine?

The place is simply serene and divine. Do take the cruise ride in the lake and enjoy the drizzle and breeze in the lake.

Loch Ness is a 'must see' for any new visitor to Scotland. The shear size and expanse of it is amazing and the water and surrounding landscapes and highlands change with the clouds and quality of light in the most fascinating way. It is one of the longest stretches of loch water anywhere and driving the length of it brings... More

Stopped in Fort Augustus to have a look at Loch Ness. There is a footpath that leads from the village to the waters edge, the view is superb. Also there is a telescope on a stand for use by the public. A cruise of the Loch can be taken by one of the large tour boats that are moored by... More

Visited on a gorgeous warm sunny day and couldn't believe how big it is. Never been before so glad I came the scenery is truly amazing. It's one of those visits people like to do to say "I've Been" There was boats taking passengers cruising around the lake. Well worth a visit.
