Loch Ness is a stunning waterway, but for those expecting lots of "Nessie" sighting opportunities, it's probably worth knowing that the little town of Drumnadrochit has no views of the loch and there's not as much 'Monster-related' tourism and you might be expecting. Loch Ness is long and there are lots of chances for lovely photos of the water and... More

The best tour you can imagine. I booked mine through Rabbie's tour. It was a 12 hour tour leaving Edinburgh with a small van of a total of 10 people. The driver and the tour guide were extremely helpful and well aware. The scottish music and the highlands with the tour stopping every few stops to take pictures, snacks, etc... More

What a shame Loch Ness, Drumnadrochit and Urquhart Castle have fallen into the tatty tourist trap. If you want tatty Christmas ornaments of Nessie, tartan hats, research your heritage etc then this is the place for you. what a disappointment it was. I've been to Loch Ness several times over the years and yes its stunning but its getting completely... More

Lovely scenery and an amazing road along it. Take the A82 road from Inverness to Urquhart Castle and just enjoy the ride.

The drive from Edinbrough to Loch less was beautiful. The scenic beauty was unbelievable . After reaching Loch Ness we were told that there is no room in the steamer that would take us on a lock ness cruise as an alternative we were offered a speed boat ride and what a blessing in disguise it turned out to be.... I have always wanted to make the trip to Loch Ness and I must say , it was worth every mile of the journey! Fort Augustus with it's pretty shops and great glass work shop where I had a nessie hand made, is a brilliant way to view the Loch. It is much wider and longer than I thought but... More

I have been to loch ness many times over the years and stayed in and around the loch as well. I have also had sailing trips on the loch three times which has given me the chance to visit and stay at fort Augustus, the clansman and other locations that are on the loch. The loch is a mile wide... More

We took a ride on one of the boat tours up the lock to Urquhart Castle and we were pleasantly surprised, it gives a person a much better idea how impressive the Loch is.
