Such a fabulous area to visit. The vistas are spectacular and the Loch is simething to behold. You can't help but breathe in and appreciate how clean the air is and just relax. Everyone we bumped into was super friendly and helpful, and the closest City was just 45 mins away.

We were staying in the Caingorms National Park which is about an hours drive away. We took a boat trip for three hours which included visiting Urquhart Castle. We also drove around all of Loch Ness commencing in Inverness, driving down to Fort Augustus and around the less busy east side. The Jacobite Boat trip was pleasant even though the... More

While it has to be said that there many nicer lochs, Loch Ness definitely is one of the must sees - with its length and surrounds it is quite beautiful natural attraction (though I'd recommend also a detour to Glen Affric too!). Hiking around is a pleasure too!

While traveling through Scotland we made it a point to visit Loch Ness, as anyone would and it did not disappoint! The landscape is beautiful, especially from a boat. I highly recommend taking one of the boats around the loch, or the one from the castle, which is what we did. The boat ride is ideal with picturesque landscape, the... More

Beautiful Loch. Well worth the visit. ... I fell in Loch Ness thanks to a slippery rock: if Nessie was there I'm sure she was as shocked as me! It's a very deep Loch; Scotland's deepest according to some. Nice hiking area.

Lochness is a very beautiful place to visit..The water is the largest in Scotland. Over 20 miles long and 700 feet deep. So very beautiful to stand there and watch the birdlife having fun in the water. We drove around the towns around Loch Ness with my Brother and Sister in law, as we drove out of the Carpark we... We had a trip up to Loch Ness last weekend. The initial drive along the lakeside is mesmerizing, because of the number of waterfalls on your right, coupled with the splendid beauty of the lake on the left. At times the lake seems to ripple mysteriously, but generally lovely flat and calm against the treeline of the highland hills in... More

I couldn't stop clicking away at the beauty of this place. great weather and not a ripple on the water so pretty. Would have loved to sail on the Loch so tranquil. Didn't see Nessy maybe next time.

The area is just lovely and Inverness is close by, so there are plenty of things to do around the area. I think the main attraction for most people coming to the lake is the Loch Ness monster. The roads are choked with cars and tour buses and the only real boat traffic I saw on the lake was the... More
