Many people believe that this brooding lake in Northern Scotland, 21 square miles in size at an average depth of 800 feet, could certainly hide a large dinosaur-like "monster," the lake's long-time and elusive resident.

Drove along the beautiful Loch Ness during our way to the Skye. Unfortunately we did not see the Loch Ness Monster but maybe on our next trip. This lake is a sight for sore eyes. Please make time to take a drive to see it.

Loch Ness is not the necessarily the prettiest loch but the history of this place is amazing. So many people have made so many things and had so many experiences around the loch and on a sunny day, as a pit stop, it is well worth a visit. Who knows? You might find Nessie! We didn't chance it. We took... More

We had a car so it was easy for us to get pictures. Stay away from the town nearby as its a tourist trap. Didn't see Nessie :-)

I took a small tour arranged through the hostel I stayed in and it was really good. We were lucky enough to get a mostly sunny day so had really nice views over the loch. Drive around the whole thing, it's definitely worth while.

If you are hiking and history freak as I am you will love Loch Ness and the atmosphere of mystery around this place. It's fantastic place for walking but also to learn about history of Scotland as the area was a witness of major conflicts and always was treated as attractive piece of land to conquer. But even if you... More

If you want to meet Nessy you have to drive to Loch Ness. Its a very nice landscape where you drive a lot around the lake. If you look for nature ... the right spot. If you want something else ... go look somewhere else.

We traveled from Glasgow to Loch Ness and then back through Aberdeen to Edinburgh. While there is no denying Loch Ness is beautiful there were far better Loch's with better access to the front of the water.

We took a daylong tour out from Edinburgh to visit Loch Ness. Loved the view of the Scottish Highlands on the way .....arrived there and the first look was breathtaking. Took the cruise and like many thought we had spotted the mysterious Ness....it was amazingly lovely. Serene and tranquil.
