My mom and I took the last train of the day from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness. We sat on the left side of the train (north side) -- and I would definitely recommend sitting there was the views are better. We thought this train trip was as spectacular if not more spectacular than the train trip from Glasgow to... More

The line is a fantastic feat of engineering, it has incredible views and is a wonderful way to travel to the west coast while not using your car. The Scot rail staff are well informed and well trained and do their best to inform and assist. It is a trip for anyone who wants to go to the west coast... More

I've done this a couple of times, and it still takes my breath away. The scenery is just sensational. We had taken books with us but never opened them throughout the two hour trip from Dingwall to Kyle. At Kyle we climbed to the Ploc viewpoint. This is a must for visitors to KoL. Head up he Main Street and... More

trains can be few and far between especially on a Sunday but it's well worth the trip. the scenery is amazing. I'd advise sitting on the right side of the train travelling to Inverness as after Plockton most of the scenery is on that side. More

This is a very pretty and relaxing trip. We went from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness and were delighted with the fantasic views. The downside is in November, it is dark on the return trip. A great way to visit the city without the hassle of driving! More

enough said..book early online to save big bucks. And a seat on the right side of the car you are in is the most scenic. Pray for no rain on this ride More

We travelled this line from Dingwall to Kyle and back the next day. One the outward journey we stopped at Attadale gardens and then went on to Plockton. You can get on and off the train as many times as you like so long as you complete your journey in one day. In fact we only went as far as... More
