Went with a coach trip but as there were over 90 steps couldn't go round the distillery, saw the short film and then had to stay in the café whilst the rest of the party went round. The whisky prices in the shop were very good.

This was great! I love scotches and the fact that we could tour the distillery was amazing. It wasn't as nice as the other more popular scotches but nevertheless it was pretty great! There is also a scotch tasting after the tour which was great also. The Ben Nevis cannot be purchased anywhere else than the UK and Scotland I... More

On our honeymoon we were keen to view some distilleries, and had looked forward to coming to this one whilst in the area. Having previously been on distillery tours in Scotland this one left us a little disappointed. The video at the start of the tour is a bit dated, we then went on to look around the distillery but... Arrived at distillery on the Tuesday only to be told to come back "anytime on the Thursday" Feeling slightly disappointed we were unable to tour that day we put it down to experience and as we were staying until the end of the week we were happy to return. Thursday arrived....we had planned the last day of our holiday around... More

We highly recommend a stop at the Ben Nevis Distillery (est. 1825) to tourists of Scotland in the area of Fort William, Our visit to the distillery in late September of 2015 commenced with a humourous 'Legend of the Dew' short film. The tour was expertly conducted thereafter by John Carmichael. We asked John about the good-looking tie he was... More

I popped in to the distillery in memory of my late dad. I have visited every distillery bar a couple of the new ones so didnt do the tour. So please not I cannot comment on that. The shop was very very sparce indeed and the bar poorly stocked. Only BNevi know if there is a call for a better... More

Not the biggest of distilleries around but definitely one of the oldest and with history worth knowing. They do the tour every hour only. Its a minimal 5 pounds entry fee. Starts with a comic short film (pretty old but well, not so bad...) of how the distillery came about etc. Liked it. Post the 10 mins film, we were... More

We have toured many distilleries and this one was terrible. There were about 50 people on the tour which started with a film and then moved on to the tour. The tour guide was bored and uninspiring. Don't bother with this tour as there are too many others which are great fun and informative. Try Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Edradour, Oban, or... More

We were lucky enough to enjoy a tour around the distillery in a very small group. Our guide had great knowledge of not only the Ben Nevis distillery but of the Scotland whisky industry and other distilleries. He explained in great detail about the different ways Whisky reacts with your palate, and that all Whisky has something wonderful about it.... More
