The website states, "From June to September, we run our spectacular Scottish Ceilidh Show seven nights a week," and in a second place on the website, "8PM – 10PM (Doors open 7.30PM). Open every night from June to September," but we showed up on a Friday night to find the place dark. Upon inquiry at the restaurant next door, we... More

Not sure why this is still listed as being in Fort William because it isn't. Although it should be. The actual venue is in Oban about 40 miles or so away. Apparantly there used to be a venue in Fort William but not now. Found this out when I tried to book tickets. Was disappointed as was really looking forward... More

Skipinnish Ceilidh House is run by professional musicians & record company owners Andrew Stevenson & Angus MacPhail of the well- known Celtic Music band Skipinnish. When we are in Scotland we like to really get into the swing of things and we like to listen to Scottish music whenever possible. On the night we went to Skipinnish there were three... More

It seems to be rather difficult to find a place in Scotland where you can listen to good folk music. Having said that, this show definitely hosted talented musicians (and dancer) but the whole setting still felt like some kind of folklore show for the tourists (no Scot was present apart from the artists). Well, Fort William probably isn't the... More

The show cannot help but seem touristy as Fort William in summer would have both hillwalkers and Steam Engine tourists around. However, the musicians were exceptionally talented -- playing multiple instruments and singing both fast-paced footstomping songs to throaty Gaelic sings about life and living in the Highlands. We had a marvellous time just listening to good live music and... More

I am Scottish but had never been to a Ceilidh! Although this place is not well advertised, the locals seemed to know about it. The music was brilliant ranging from laemnts to good old fashioned jigs with a young lass playing everything from bagpipes to the harp and singing. The other band members were also excellent. The show didnt last... More

We were wondering around Fort William, when we stumbled upon Skippinish. We booked on the spur of the moment, and we were entertained to a wonderful evening of local Gaelic song and dance by three very talented young musicians. We got up to join in some local jigs (including the Flying Scotsman) which was lots of fun. I would rate... More
