Here at Explore Highland, we love the great outdoors.Based centrally in the Capital of the Scottish Highlands, Inverness is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, wildlife, but best of all, a plentiful supply of water for open canoeing, river kayaking or sea kayaking. When you join us on a guided adventure or hire a boat for your own adventure, we will ensure that your time in the Highlands is truely memorable. We may be bias, but we feel that there is no better location in the world to explore.

Really good adventure down the Spey in Kayaks with a couple of companions. Beautiful sights (as you would expect from the Highlands) and lots of useful information from our guide/leader Donald. He has in depth knowledge of the surrounding area and water ways and this adds to a great day out. I would highly recommend Donald and his company to... More

My 12 year old son had an introduction to kayaking afternoon with Donald and 2 other boys. Learned about their boats, basic paddle strokes and lots of games. Highlight was a launch down the embankment into the water. Whoops of delight and FUN, FUN, FUN !!!! We both then tried an afternoon of stand up paddle boarding, which is harder... More

Donald was a fantastic coach - he went through in just the right detail how we might like to set up our own canoe (we're looking to eventually get out overnight camping), and then we headed out onto the canal where he took us through the different strokes and how to use them, before heading down a river with small... He did provided a shuttle down the length of the great glen so that I could paddle back to the car at Inverness. He also went out of his way... More

Bright and early on the 7th of April we arrived at Dochgarroch ready for our first canoeing lesson. The day started with an introduction to canoeing safety and basics then we hit the water and tried to put into practice what we had learned. Donald proved to be an excellent teacher, he was very patient with us and thanks to... More

We have a new hobby! we loved every minute of it and will definitely be returning for another adventure. The scenery on the Findhorn River was breathtaking, we experienced views which we would have never see on land. Donald's enthusiasm, experience and passion for canoeing was infectious and next time we'll bring our friends for more adventures. I'd reccomend it... More
