Donald was a fantastic instructor. Great equipment. Taught us the basics on the canal then took us out on the firth, beautiful scenery and seals popping up everywhere! Excellent value for the afternoon too.

Wow. Yes, we were lucky to have extraordinarily good weather, but even in pouring rain I have no doubt that Donald would have facilitated an entertaining and enjoyable trip. With a fair amount of prior SUP experience, I chose to take a stand-up paddleboard whilst the other members were in kayak. We were in a small group led by Donald,... More

I filled out their web-form about a month before our visit to Inverness. I received an automated reply saying they would respond as soon as possible. About two weeks later, I contacted them again, by direct e-mail, asking about the status of our reservation request and received another automated response. We ended up having to make other plans.

Our family of four (two kids aged 8 and 12) had a memorable trip canoeing on Loch Ness in July thanks to Explore Highland. Donald met us at Dochgarroch with his two Canadian canoes and, though we had never canoed before, he ably and safely guided us around the Loch navigating the weirs, cruise ships and wrecks. This was a... More

This was the best bit of our holiday - it was too windy to go out on Loch Ness but we went on the Caledonian Canal instead and had a fun evening - even our dog went too and relaxed while we did all the work! A fantastic way to enjoy an evening. Donald was really helpful and good fun... More

Just spent an amazing trip sea kayaking around South Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Donald our guide did a brilliant job, making the trip go really smooth even thou we were delayed by ferry strike. spent the week relaxing and wild camping on some spectacular locations. We were lucky enough to come across a couple of basking sharks and a... More

As the title suggests, my pals and I wanted a stag-do weekender which wouldn't threaten future career prospects through getting arrested or getting totally lost in eastern Europe, and so we thought we'd go kayaking in Inverness. The staff were extremely helpful prior to our arrival, and went well beyond what would be expected, by taking photographs for us on... More

Really good adventure down the Spey in Kayaks with a couple of companions. Beautiful sights (as you would expect from the Highlands) and lots of useful information from our guide/leader Donald. He has in depth knowledge of the surrounding area and water ways and this adds to a great day out. I would highly recommend Donald and his company to... More

My 12 year old son had an introduction to kayaking afternoon with Donald and 2 other boys. Learned about their boats, basic paddle strokes and lots of games. Highlight was a launch down the embankment into the water. Whoops of delight and FUN, FUN, FUN !!!! We both then tried an afternoon of stand up paddle boarding, which is harder... More

Donald was a fantastic coach - he went through in just the right detail how we might like to set up our own canoe (we're looking to eventually get out overnight camping), and then we headed out onto the canal where he took us through the different strokes and how to use them, before heading down a river with small...
