We headed to this distillery not really knowing what we would find, but wee very pleasantly surprised. We booked the tasting tour £10 each and there were 4 of us on the tour. The lady who took us around was very informative and answered all our questions. I would have no trouble recommending anyone going to this distillery. It certainly... More

Hi Stylezee, As first time visitors to a distillery I am very glad you enjoyed your tour at Tomatin. The maximum size of group that we take on a public tour is ten people in order to keep the tour as intimate as possible. I hope this sets you on your way to visiting many other distilleries and you enjoy... More

I'm a bit of a distillery bore and this is about the 20th distillery I have been around. For me, it was good to see a cut-away mash tun and to experience one of the old distillery giants. However, if you have not been to a distillery before I suggest you head for one of the many others in the... More

Hi PeteNorfolk, It is most concerning that you have left Tomatin with such a poor opinion. As you can see from our other reviews over the last two years we have received nothing but very positive feedback. I would love the opportunity to discuss your review with you further because I feel that you have left Tomatin Distillery with completely... More

We visited Tomatin with our two sons,19 and 25. Our tour guide Fiona was very knowledable and friendly. One could tell she really likes working there and the product which is made in Tomatin. The tour was very interesting and we learnt a lot. The sampling after the tour was interesting and we ended up buying a few bottles since... More

Very much enjoyed a visit here. This place deserves more as it seems to be quite well hidden away. The manufacturing process of whisky is the same everywhere but its interesting to see the differences. Our guide was well spoken, friendly and knowledgable.

Hi Andy F, It is always good to read that somebody understands the importance of the subtle differences in distilleries when the majority of the process is very similar. If you are back up the road please stop by and we would be delighted to offer you a sample of our newest releases. Slainte, Scott More

The staff here are not only very friendly but well educated and helpful. The tour guide was quite an amazing teacher--very knowledgeable about whiskey. Excellent whiskey as well, by the way!!! Distillery set in a lovely setting as well.

Hi Carscar, The Highlands of Scotland are a fantastic backdrop to a distillery, we are very lucky in that respect. Thank you so much for your kind review on tripadvisor, I believe that we had a little chat about the Utah Jazz at the till, if memory serves me correctly. Thank you very much for visiting and if your travels... More

Upon arriving at Tomatin, we were getting out of the car when we heard someone say " Would you like to join the tour"? Hector was about to embark on a tour and was polite to ask us as he was about to get started. This was our first tour of a distillery and Hector was informative while being a... More

Set in lovely scenery this distillery offers a very friendly tour experience( be it in the actual tour or a DVD ). The tasting is well worth while even if you are not normally a whisky drinker. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. All languages are catered for and a good range of whiskies, cook books and momentos are available... More

Popped in here on our way back from Aviemore, it was their first weekend opening for the year so there were unfortunately no tours but we were well looked after in the shop, given some nice tasters and would definitely return to experience the tour itself.

Dear CJ0hnst0n, Thank you very much for your kind comments about the whisky. Unfortunately as advertised we do not offer tours on a Sunday, this is something we are looking to experiment with over the coming Summer months. The distillery is open for tours Monday through to Saturday from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, so I hope we can welcome... More
