We boarded the first train from Broomhill and got the last train back from Aviemore,it was a great day out,we were staying not far from Broomhill. The carriages were very clean and the train had a buffet car serving drinks and snacks and the views from the train were excellent,a worth while trip.

We boarded the Steam Train at Aviemore Station which then took us through wonderful scenery past Avielochan and Kinveachy woodlands and on to the village of Boat of Garten then Broomhill. Good soup and tasty sandwiches plus a cup of coffee served by very friendly staff. Return journey gave us a chance to enjoy the view from another angle and... More

Cycled from Aviemore to Broomhill station and then took the steam railway back to Aviemore - great cycle and wonderful experience on the train. However - expensive....£33.00 for a family of four one way for approximately 13 miles!

we were on a diesel as it was February. you go along 2 stops, stop for a bit then come back again. Scenery is spectacular. I would consider getting the train up the line then walking back if the weather was better

Dear reviewer, We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience of the railway. There are many fantastic routes in the area, with a large amount of our visitors choosing to incorporate walking or cycling into their trip. May I suggest that the next time you visit the area, the Speyside Way would be a great walking route, which... More

We have a guest house very near to the steam railway and we use this as a bit of R & R out of our busy lifestyle so are frequent travellers. Our guests of all ages love going on the train and we have never had a bad report in all of our ten years.

I was bought the afternoon tea with first class upgrade for Valentine's Day. What a treat, as much tea as you could drink, tasty fresh sandwiches and cakes, accompanied by a lovely sunny trip on the steam train. It was great value for the money.

Just for something to do we decided to have a trip on the steam train. Glad we did. This attraction offers something for everyone. Full Lunch. Drinks and sandwiches or a simple train ride. The changing scenery along the line is wonderful, but just being on this immaculate turned out train was wonderful. Great memories were remembered by us both.

This wonderful steam train is gaining momentum! On a recent 'tourism' special we found out that not only is the line getting closer to Grantown-on-Spey, the dedicated volunteers and staff are really 'pulling' (excuse the pun) together to make this a memorable experience for visitors and locals. Whether it's afternoon tea, Mother's Day lunch, Santa special, Teddy Bear's picnic or... More

Living locally I have enjoyed a trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway many times. When relatives visit we almost always book supper on the dinner special. It is always a most enjoyable evening with good food. As a restaurateur I am amazed at how good the food is, especially given the restrictions the staff face on the train. I would... More
