My family and I planned to come here after our walk around Loch an Eilein. We were not disappointed. There was a huge selection of gateaux to choose from and we sampled 3 varieties. All were extremely delicious especially the Peanut one.Nearly went back next day to buy some to take home.Lovely cosy unpretentious tearoom with just excellent baking. Will... More

We love to visit Inshriach whenever we are in the Aviemore area. Another poster described the Potting shed as "rustic" but I see this as an attraction rather than a criticism. They always have a lovely selection of delicious home baked cakes on offer including at least two gluten-free cakes, Prices are very reasonable and include tea or coffee. The... More

In a tired garden centre the tiny restaurant serve cakes and hot drinks. No meals, no bread, no sandwiches , no soup, certainly no alcohol. After the long journey up a winding hilly road a soup and sandwich would have been most welcome. The garden centre itself seems to only stock bought-in plants and these well-past their best. The paths... More

If you love wildlife with your tea and cake, then this is a place you must visit. The cafe owner feeds the birds with nuts in feeders high in the trees. All this is visible from the large cafe window. The cake selection is fab too! Buy some alpines for the garden on the way out.

Yay lots of sweet birds to watch and a red squirrel lucky me, yum the Victoria sponge was my favourite. Lots of cakes- lots of cream and good tea selection but the highlight is the bar with the viewing gallery of bird feeders. Worth a stop if your in the area

Really enjoyed sitting watching all the birds feeding while we sat eating cake and drinking coffee. Unfortunately we missed the red squirrels on this occasion.

The tearoom and garden are owned by a lovely couple - the Norwegian wife makes stunning cakes and the husband is very knowledgeable about plants. In fact, the delightful man comes from Bedfordshire (where we now live) and spent many years in Norway where he met his wife before they then moved to Scotland. The tearoom has a fabulous viewing... For foodie cake lovers this is a gem in the middle of the Highlands. The cakes are better than those you will eat in Paris and London. The style of the cafe is of faded vintage tea room, with the most amazing view of birds (and a red squirrel if you're lucky!) - this was worth the trip from London!... More

A busy place, and yes, it is a potting shed, no frills just basic chairs and tables, basic offering of drinks, cakes were nice looking but mine didn't taste of much other than cream. Had tea in an old blue and white china cup which was nice and vintage as is the fashion at the moment. View from the windows... More

We've been here before and enjoyed the visit, so when we were passing close by the kids asked could we pop in again. It is great to be able to sit and watch the birds and squirrels at close quarters. But I have to say that the cakes are pretty bog standard - I had one with summer berries, but... More
