Follow your guide as they lead you up to the reindeer's mountain enclosure. Once there, your guide will tell you all about the reindeer and you can walk amongst them, stroking them and feeding them by hand.Don't fancy the hill trip? For those less able, from Easter to New Year, we have a small group of reindeer in the paddock at the Centre itself. For younger visitors, there is a quiz, you can make your own badge, or make an antler headband. « less

Really enjoyed this. The 'walk up the hill' is a dawdle. I was dying of the cold at the time and managed it no problem and I'm super unfit. You drive round to the Sugarbowl car park (a couple of minutes from the Reindeer Centre) then cross the road, go downhill to a wee river then up the other side.... More

One or two of the reviewers on these pages have been less than honest or kind in their review and their expectations have been incredibly high. Were the owners of this facility to meet all of their nit-picky requirements the charge would be well over double what is charged at present. The seem not to be aware that this is... More

Fantastic day with the reindeer, my kids (4 - 11) loved it. The staff are great, really friendly and helpful, the scenery beautiful. We did the herd visit which involved a lovely 20 minute walk up to the herds, then feeding the reindeer as about fifty of them mingled around us. They all have great temperaments, the staff described them... More

Visited on a school trip and absolutely loved the experience. Feeding and stroking the different reindeer was unreal and you must must do this if you are nearby, especially considering as it is the only herd of reindeer in the UK.

Friendly, helpful staff. Magnificent setting with adorable reindeer. Well worth the money and time out to visit. Sensible footwear a must; visit was not rushed & had many opportunities to feed members of the herd. Would definitely visit again.

Do not read the very few miserable comments it is a true saying that you cannot please everybody. Fiona was charm itself and I had the opportunity to sit outside and talk with her some more before we set off. Everything, and I mean everything about this place is utterly brilliant, it is a do not miss experience - once... More

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the reindeer herd experience. Hen, our guide, was very clear and informative as well as friendly and open to have a bit of banter. The deer themselves were quite calm and playful, as well as hungry. We love animals so this was right up our street and there were kids with us in the... More

Perfect for families. We traveled with 2 teens and a toddler and it was wonderful for everyone. We didn't have a car to travel up to the parking lot, so I would recommend making sure you have your travel up to the trail sorted beforehand (we ended up riding with the guide). The stroll is quite short and can be... More

First impressions weren't great when I arrived at the booking office to buy tickets for my family. There was one individual serving customers and they took an age booking a family in front of me onto the trip. To be fair they were foreign tourists and probably struggled to understand where the hill trip started from and had inappropriate footwear... More

Many thanks for your review, feedback is always much appreciated by us all here at the Reindeer Centre. I'm sorry that you found our booking procedure a bit slow. As you can imagine it takes us longer to explain the hill visit procedure to visitors whose first language is not English so apologies that you had to wait for your... More

My husband and I visited the reindeer herd on a sunny day in June (although the field was still pretty muddy, so make sure to wear boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty). After the short drive to the trailhead from the Reindeer Center, followed by a quick walk up to to the hill where the reindeer were located,... More
