Follow your guide as they lead you up to the reindeer's mountain enclosure. Once there, your guide will tell you all about the reindeer and you can walk amongst them, stroking them and feeding them by hand.Don't fancy the hill trip? For those less able, from Easter to New Year, we have a small group of reindeer in the paddock at the Centre itself. For younger visitors, there is a quiz, you can make your own badge, or make an antler headband. « less

It's worth visiting to support this and learn more about the reindeer herd. It doesn't take long to get round it and our son (3) enjoyed it.

Ok we went on Easter Sunday and the weather was hot which did help! We had visited a few years back but returned with our teenagers and enjoyed it as much as before. The guide is very knowledgeable so stay close enough to listen and follow the safety advice. The reindeer are really gentle and fascinating animals and our visit... More

Just off the main road outside Aviemore you park on the main road and get tickets from the ticket office for either the paddock at £3.50 which is reasonable or £16.50 per adult for the hill trip to see them outside which for an hour is unreasonably expensive. Well laid out paddocks and lots of information where you can get... More

Many thanks for your review; it's always extremely helpful to us to hear some feedback. However, I would like to clear up a couple of points for the benefit of anyone else reading your review. While the paddocks/exhibition does indeed cost £3.50 per adult, the hill trip is £13.00 rather than £16.50. On average, the hill visits last 1.5 to... More

Decided to try the trip to meet these adorable reindeer and so glad we did! We had a bit of a trek to finally meet them but that was all part of the fun. To see them coming up the mountain was a spectacle in itself and they are so placid and friendly even the youngest were more than happy... More

Hubby & I were in Aviemore for my 30th birthday weekend, and on noticing a leaflet in our hotel, decided that this would be an amazing way to spend a morning. We arrived at the centre, and after paying, were given directions to follow the convoy to the car park where the trek would start. We then walked up and... More

Eve, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great to see these beautiful animals up close. They come racing over when they see the bags of food but when they reach you theyre very placid and patient. Blue, 1 year old male all white, was very cheeky and friendly

Me and my partner decided to pay a visit to aviemore for a couple of days after a few days in edinburgh to celebrate my birthday. She was desperate to see the reindeer and we were almost out of luck as they couldnt locate them on that morning. We were facing a 7.5 hour journey home with one very sad... More

Amazing animals and a real insight into the culture that goes along with them. In winter look out for the wild grazing animals up near lower ski field carpark too

My Husband and I visited the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd in November. It was a fantastic experience and well worth the money. After meeting in an easy to access car park, you walk with the Reindeer herding assistants to see the herd. The walk is not extremely easy as there are some slightly steeper climbs and some loose footing, but it's... More
