Type: Nature/ Wildlife Areas, Nature & Parks
Owner description: Visit Britain's only free-ranging herd of reindeer in their natural environment. Follow your guide as they lead you up to the reindeer's mountain enclosure. Once there, your guide will tell you all about the reindeer and you can walk amongst them, stroking them and feeding them by hand.Don't fancy the hill trip? For those less able, from Easter to New Year, we have a small group of reindeer in the paddock at the Centre itself. For younger visitors, there is a quiz, you can make your own badge, or make an antler headband.

Visited the reindeer while on a trip to Aviemore just before christmas. The centre itself is lovely with nice little nic nacs to purchase for a gift. We only paid for the paddock however, they offer a trek to see the reindeer too. The reindeer were nice and close in the paddock and their favourite food is available for you... More

Many thanks for your review, and I'm glad you enjoyed meeting our reindeer. Just to clarify a point for the benefit of anyone else reading your review who is planning to visit us: visitors to the paddocks only are not normally able to feed the reindeer there, to be able to touch and feed the reindeer you need to come... Really enjoyed getting up close to the Reindeer and feeding them. Guide was amazing and looked like a reindeer herder!!! Nice walk up the hills, so sensible kit required!

Takes about 15 mins walk from the center (where there are toilets, gift shop etc) to where the reindeer are and then you get to feed them. Guides are very informative and friendly, as are the reindeer!

We had a great day very interesting listening to the people about the reindeer. You need a good pair of walking boots because it is a trek to get to them but when up there the views are great and the reindeer are amazing.

This is a brilliant trip. You walk for about 10 minutes up the hill and then get to enter the reindeer enclosure and hand feed them. Some of them are very friendly! The guide is very informative and I was surprised to learn that most of the reindeer are free to roam, wherever they want.

My fiancé and I traveled up from Dundee with my son as he has adopted one of the reindeer. It was definitely a journey worth making. We were there between Christmas and new year and the scenery was stunning! The trip up the mountain was lovely, took about 20mins - advise to wrap up warm though! Once up there we... More

Great to see the reindeer up and close, and you can feed them, there was lots of information about the animals, and they had a craft barn where the kids can interact and also a small shop. You also get discount on the vechnicular railway

A fantastic day with the herd on the mountain. Starting at the centre where there are charming little grottos and stables a short drive to a car park further up the hill and then an escorted walk to the herd on the open hillside. The two girls that acted as guides obviously loved their jobs and were keen to share... More
