Rode the GGW in a day last summer. Nearly broke me but a couple of espressos in Fiddlers in Drumnadrochit, 18 or so miles from the end made all the difference. We all considered this walk to be a trudge along rubble forestry roads or long straight canal towpaths. Having done the West Highland Way the year before which was fantastic this was a very very disappointing walk. More

This trail has a mix of walking from very easy canal / loch paths to a bit higher up and overlooking the Glen. More

Firstly, don't believe it when people tell you this is a flat boring walk following a canal tow path.
