Very pretty square. Good transport links here. Close to the centre of Glasgow city, with many restaurants close by.

Going to the square at Christmas has always been a fun, the lights always make Christmas seem more festive. Now there is a fairground, ice rink and bar to give the experience a modern twist. The carousel is fun for all ages and cheap too. The bars are cosy and have a view over the whole square, you can sit... More

The BFM really likes the iconic central area of Glasgow that is George Square. It is the quintessential open space in the city centre which is full at Hogmanay and Christmas time. It's a great focal point and a wonderful starting point for a food tour, shopping or sightseeing tours. It's surrounded by roads on all four sides and some... More

There's nothing particularly attractive about George Square, but it's the center of the city and a convenient starting point to find city attractions like museums, the School of Art and shopping.

The heartbeat of the city in the centre of town. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy a break from the day and watch life go by. Surrounded by bars and resturants and often the venue of changing themes, most recently Winter Wonder Land fair and ice skating rink, there is usually something that entertains.

George Square can be considered the heart of the city centre with shopping districts in any direction however, the square itself is usually a centre of relaxation when taking a break from shopping. The area is beautiful and well maintained with almost no litter around which is surprising when you consider the amount of people choosing to eat a snack... More

We went to George Square on the Christmas period so it was all setup with carroussel, Big Wheel and a Ice Rink. It was full of visitors making it very crowded. Lots of fun to do it. George Square is the principal civic square in the city of Glasgow, Scotland and today is home to the headquarters of Glasgow City... More

George Square is nice to sit in if you want to take a break from walking around the city. Not much else to say about it really!

Glasgow District Council, in its infinite wisdom, ripped out the lawns that were on Glasgow Green and covered it in red tarmac, making it more like Glasgow Red a good few years ago, which was a great shame, as it was a very nice place just to sit and chill. Now it is less so. There are much better places... More
