Great Meeting Place

George Square is a really impressive square with many historical buildings and a great landmark to meet up with friends. It is also the starting point for the Glasgow tour buses.

George Square is a spacious square in the centre of Glasgow with many historical landmarks. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants around the square and you are in the heart of the city which is ideal for my wife who loves the shopping and assures me that all the best shops (the expensive ones!!!) are located around George... What a nice place just to sit a while and watch the world go by. Near to Queen St Train Station so handy if waiting on your train.

A nice historic square with some classic historic buildings and statues. A few bar and restaurants, nice gardens - worth a look if you are in town. Pop round to exchange square to have a drink on a pedestrian square

This is Glasgows famous focal point and centre of the city and it is fantastic to find such a large square and some grass and greens right in the centre of a busy city. Brilliant views of the City Chambers and well worth an hours stopover to read the history and sit to take in the centre of town

many statues to gaze at and lots of museums and monuments are located near George Square. a great place to grab some eats - lots of shops sourround the square. Local musicians perform at certain times, so grab some eats and enjoy the ambiance.

This place welcomes you as you leave Queen Street Station towards the George Square exit (of course!) and having never been to Glasgow before, it was a nice sight to be welcomed to. Busy square with lots of monuments and histry, surrounded by busy streets full of shops and restaurants. A few bus stops on the square, so easy access... More

The place to see and be seen. On the square is the City Council offices. As well as many statutes including Robert Burns (Scottish poet) and Sir Walter Scott (writer, playwright, poet) and several others. This is a very busy square with many ad hoc things going on. From here one can easily walk to the Glasgow Cathedral, the University,... More

Its the centre of Glasgow, a square like most other cities have with an array of restaurants, the Italian centre for posh shopping & posh restaurants. The Counting House on the corner us good for reasonable excellent food & drink as well as enjoying the architecture inside and out.
