There is almost always something going on in the square. If not, it is an ideal place just to take a short break, or pick up a city bus tour...on the west side. On the eastern side of the square, are 2 very important structures. In the foreground, the Cenotaph, with the very impressive City Chambers. Tours of the building are... More

Hundreds of people when I was there but it was strangely a relaxing place, people sitting on the many seats reading talki g or watching the world go by...a lone piper then appeared and began playing a tune, lovely place to rest awhile!

George Square is right in the middle of Central Glasgow. There are train stations, restaurants, pubs and some magnificent buildings surrounding the Square. there are plenty of benches to sit on and people watch :)). George Square also has an interesting political soaked History and there are some Historic statues within the Square to discover. It's one of my favourite... More

We were in the George Square a number of times during the Commomwealth Games and just loved it. Plenty of thing a to see and keep you occupied. Close by shopping was excellent. Plenty of meal and drink options.

As a local to Glasgow, I am very pleased to see the red tarmac gone. It now looks great. Love how busy it is with people and the great atmosphere there. With hotels, pubs and shops all within 2 minutes of it, it's a great centre piece for Glasgow.

I have spent much of the last two weeks looking down on George Square from my wife's apartment during the Commonwealth Games and George Square has been an amazing experience. Busy 24 hours a day with people, performers and big G! I am sure its not quite this busy outside the games, but still its excellent I am sure.
