This is the first thing that hit me once I walked out of the bus and after walking from Queens street towards the city center. This place has so many statues all around with the ultimate large building on one side which is City Chambers. There is such a charm about George Square that makes you feel like you are... More

The only reason we were in George Square was because we got off the train at Queen Street station. I mean, what can I say. It's a square. Few buildings, some statues, some grass, lots of benches. If you like a bit of grand architecture then it's totally worth stopping at. We took some pictures of the monuments which are... More

The square is great for strolling. Interesting architecture on the City Hall - much more elaborate than I would have expected for Scotland. Usually when we are visiting Glasgow there is a major event going on and that means there is some event in the Green. Even if it's crowded, it is still fun to walk through or around especially... We spent a lovely hour sitting in the glorious sunshine in George Square, the absolute epicentre of Glasgow, and the place to be if you enjoy people watching. From groups of tourists taking photos of everything to cycle-rickshaws whizzing people around, it's never dull or quiet. A great city centre greenspace enjoyed by all, and not a whiff of trouble... This is the main squar at the centre of Glasgow. It has some statues some wee grassy bits and a lot of pigeons. Can some times be populated by beggars or overly aggressive locals who have been on the buckfast tonic wine (a local tipple of choice) you must try the sausage rolls fae greggs on the corner with queen... This is a must see area of Glasgow. We enjoyed the square monuments and the architecture of the surrounding buildings. Very grand.

George Square in the heart of Glasgow. If you're not sure of the city it's the ideal place to meet. It's right beside Queen Street Railway Station and Buchanan Bus Station and Glasgow Central Railway Station are close by. It's a lovely place to sit in the summer to have lunch and watch the world go by. City Chambers sits... More
