This used to be a nice part of the city but over last few years its been taken over by various groups for protesting or holding a demo which bring a bad atmosphere to the area. Other than that its a nice place when sun is out during the summer

Very nice square which has a lawn to sit on, some statues and is conveniently placed in thee centre of Glasgow. The square is surrounded by Queen Street station, the Weatherpoons - The Counting House, the Merchant district and the town hall.

A lovely place to sit and enjoy the surrounding area and drink in the beautiful cityscape. A little place to escape the hustle and bustle it was lovely and sunny and a perfect spring day when we visited.

This is the first thing that hit me once I walked out of the bus and after walking from Queens street towards the city center. This place has so many statues all around with the ultimate large building on one side which is City Chambers. There is such a charm about George Square that makes you feel like you are... More

a hive of activity in the heart of the city, plenty to see, eat and buy near buy. Less than 5 minutes from the main shopping centres of city centre Glasgow but plenty around the square as well. Queen Street train station also right here.

The only reason we were in George Square was because we got off the train at Queen Street station. I mean, what can I say. It's a square. Few buildings, some statues, some grass, lots of benches. If you like a bit of grand architecture then it's totally worth stopping at. We took some pictures of the monuments which are... More

The square is great for strolling. Interesting architecture on the City Hall - much more elaborate than I would have expected for Scotland. Usually when we are visiting Glasgow there is a major event going on and that means there is some event in the Green. Even if it's crowded, it is still fun to walk through or around especially...
