Great range of indie and art-house films, as well as showing some new releases. The theatre is beautiful and great atmosphere.

We loved this place, very cosy film theatre. Nice selection of films. Loved it that the seats where bought by people, we sat on the chair from Tilda Swinton, how cool is that! The theatre was also not to busy, like the mainstream one nearby.

My daughter is 5 so the Saturday morning screenings are perfect for introducing her to the cinema. The kids can go and enjoy the full movie experience without having to be told constantly not to make any noise. The seats are a great price too.

The GFT in Rose Street shows films not likely to be seen in modern cinemas, but shows mainstream movies as well. Old favourites such as It's a Wonderful Life are screened here at Christmas time. The theatre has retained its original feel, a nice nostalgic place to visit. There is also a cafe/restaurant which is very popular with movie-goers.

Great choice of flicks, good atmosphere, a Bar :) and on a Wednesday evening they do a film discussion group that is free and focuses on horror movies. What more could one ask for? ;)

I am a regular visitor to the GFT, but my most recent attendance - Friday 23 May - had, as it turned out, a special significance. I was set to travel to the city centre when I became aware of breaking news that the Glasgow School of Art was ablaze. I was well aware of the close proximity of this... More

haha! Yes I know, its a fancier kind of place to see a movie.. you can get a cocktail and bring it in to to the film... you can also get other types of food there... but where is the popcorn? It is the movies after all.

The GFT is frequented by people looking for interesting films, good chats and a refreshment. Most of the films are interesting, while some are excellent, small releases. Throw in regular educational presentations on film matters and you have an excellent facility. Well worth checking.
