My first trip here since 1973! The GFT has always had a reputation for being a bit arty, and possibly with ageing, this doesn't seem so alien now. The cinema is certainly not the usual multiplex, and it is good to see the independent can still hold its own. Staff are friendly, and the seats were comfortable. Saw Leviathan this... More

A proper cinema theatre, how they're meant to be. Worth a trip to see a film when you're in Glasgow. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Cute and Classic theatre. Any film fan will be in their element.

A lovely movie theatre located in central Glasgow. They play both main stream and artsy/foreign movies. Great place to catch a movie and skip the masses of people. Comfortable and reasonably priced. Cafe and bar on premises also provides snacks and friendly service.

A few of use went to see the Christmas showing of It's a Wonderful Life. I was so looking forward to it but due to the extremely uncomfortable seats I could not wait for the show to end. Very little leg room o had to sit with my knees side on & resulted in cramp. The place is beautiful &... More

I really love the intimate feeling you get with smaller cinemas like the GFT. I much prefer to visit these types rather than the larger mainstream cinemas (so hipster, right?). But I feel that they are a lot more comfortable and have a great feeling about them. I haven't visited in a while and can't wait to go back!

Our family just love this venue, especially for watching old films. The original vintage decor really adds to the atmosphere of the occasion. The fact that you can purchase an alcoholic drink and take it into the viewing is pretty novel too, especially mulled wine with mince pies at Christmas when you are watching the old standards like, "It's a... This cinema beats the hell out of a massive multiplex any day of the week. Small, comfortable, great films (mostly art-house/independent) and a bar.

interesting mix of foreign and independent films as well as the usual. It has a good bar so you can take some nice wine or beer in with you and there are more comfortable seats and more leg room than you will be used to fro the big film theaters. I've gone to see some of the national theater productions... More
