A bit tatty but worth a visit.

This market has been going for years and years. A great place to meet the "real folk" of Glasgow. Lots of tat on offer, but a few gems mixed in. I go for the antique linen, and... read more

World famous Barras. Sigh , it's a shadow of itself from the 70's,80's a d even early 90's heyday ...very few stalls, no character , pirated DVDs @£5 only £1 at various English markets, copy Nike Adidas etc , I didn't see a single decent stall indoor or outdoor. Tragic , no one seems to care that this icon and... More

I've been a regular visitor to the Barras for over 30 years, from when you couldn't move in the streets for customers. As some of the reviews have highlighted there are less stalls, some of the quality of the stuff on sale is questionable, however there is a lot of really great stuff if you investigate a little bit further.... Was only here last week and there was hardly any stalls compared to previous years. I would not recommend the trouble coming here again. Back in the day, the place used to be mobbed but now there is hardly anyone. I wouldnt waste my time coming here.

As a proud Glaswegian, i have absolutely on idea why some people from my city recommend going here as a tourist attraction. Its no better than a filthy flea ridden pick pockets paradise selling junk that no one wants or needs. Given the health and safety standards that Glasgow City Council enforce for other city businesses, Im surprised that this... More

Visited on a Sunday morning. Oh where has the Barras gone hardly anything open but hey the traders still up there with the best. Lovely people but all feeling despondent as they feel the market will be closed. From its glory days how sad to see this great institution in such a sad state.

Visited The Barras recently. I was extremely disappointed. Not what I expected at all. it was more like a junk sale than a market. Sadly not what it was in it's heyday. Another casualty of the big out of town discount stores.

My son and I visited this market on a Sunday. It was Sketchy at best. Most of the stalls were old CD's and DVD's, old clothing, and electronics.
