Visited on the morning of Sunday 13.12.15. What a complete waste of time. Hardly anything there and what was being sold was only for the bin. I will not be back and advise any readers not to waste their time going.

There's no denying, this is not your fancy street market...it's anything but. BUT this is part of its charm. People are nice and there is just so much stuff. Much more interesting to walk around then any shopping centre. Take it for what it is and you will enjoy your visit.

Its been years since i visited the barras so decided to visit today, 25.10.2015, many of the shops are closed down but some staffs left inside and outside, I remember when it was bargain heaven but its not that any-more, people are very friendly thro. Not the place that once was a really busy and full of people and bargains galore. One place that is worth a visit indoors is the Wonderful world of Magic, tricks for sale at Bargain prices.

To be fair I was probably there too early. Maybe the vendors had not had enough coffee yet, but the whole affair was pretty sad. Signs posted by some vendors complaining about what a pain customers are...um OK, way to win new ones? There were some interesting antiques if you are local and have transport, but if you are a... Appears the vendors have picked up things on the street, placed them in boxes , transported them to the world famous Barras Market. ( some vendors have literally thrown the boxes still full of garbage on tables, no sorting or even laying the garbage out so you can have a better look at what they found along the street). A... Used to be brilliant but now mainly rubbish. However the few antique stalls still have bargains. Worth a brief selective visit. We picked up some genuine china bargains.

I was born in Glasgow and used to come here with my parents most weekends and was very sad to see how run down it has become. There really wasn't anything worth buying. I have seen better in jumble sales that what was being sold here. As my sons hadn't been here before they wanted to have a look and... More

World famous Barras. Sigh , it's a shadow of itself from the 70's,80's a d even early 90's heyday ...very few stalls, no character , pirated DVDs @£5 only £1 at various English markets, copy Nike Adidas etc , I didn't see a single decent stall indoor or outdoor. Tragic , no one seems to care that this icon and... More
