Despite living only a few miles away and being NTS members it was when an American visitor suggested that she would like to see round Pollok House that we went for the first time in many years. We arrived just after it opened (11am) so we managed to get the last available empty space in the House car park. The... More

This is a wonderful house to visit - and situated in a fabulous park. We went on the train and loved the walk to the house. It's interesting, with some great art - and is free during the winter!

Our first visit to Pollok House, already fans of the park, the gardens, the bike trails and nearby Burrell. Our kids aged 5-8 years old loved seeing the heavy horses in the fields and nearby stable yard, and the fun Christmas trail through the atmospheric grand mansion house, Mrs Claus was very entertaining and gave the kids quality presents -... Visited Pollok House today and had to go through Narnia's Wardrobe to enter. Beautifully dressed up for Christmas with lots of teddies about. Also visited Mrs Claus in her sitting room as Santa was out chasing up his naughty elves. Much less frightening for young children. Well worth a visit.

Sorry. Found this place really boring. Perhaps it's just me ;-( there wasn't that much to do. On the upside there is a nice park near by for the children to play. Thought it was expensive
