Always a nice park to visit when my kids were young. Now its my time for taking granddaughter. Park is always well maintained , even during a very wet winter. Biggest disappointment was the large number of owners who let their dogs off the lead in the main areas of the park were there are children. Despite numerous signs asking... More

Visited November 2015 with 5 others. We split up and met at the restaurant 11/2 hours later. We saw all the beautiful house then went to the gift shops and had lunch in the restaurant.

Went for a walk round the country park with our dog followed by a visit to Pollock House. The house is lovely and worth a visit. We were looking forward to a nice coffee and scone after our walk and went to the cafe at the house. The location is fantastic in the former kitchen of the house. We ordered... More

Didn't take very long to look round the few rooms in the house. It all seemed a bit unkempt and a number of the rooms were closed. There does seem to be a lot of restoration going on. It was so wet there was a river flowing down the cobbled access path from the car park to the front door.... More

A great day out with lots to see and do. I like the old house, its furnishings and décor, and the library and paintings. Plenty to keep children occupied.

We had a disappointing visit to the Still Room after an excellent walk in the surrounding park. The restaurant was busy and we were directed to the Still Room. The member of staff there did his best but, soup in paper cups with no bread or rolls. OK baguettes but, only two left. Hopefully the restaurant is better?

The house has plenty of things to see to fill an hour or so, before sampling the wares of the "Victorian" kitchen, which is apparently award winning? The soup and warm bread was first class, and a choice of wares was quite extensive.

We visited here today with our 2 children to visit Mrs Claus. The house was beautiful, and Mrs Claus was great, and the children really enjoyed the search game they were given to do. We decided to end it by having a nice coffee and some homemade cake. It was about 4pm by the time we got to the cafe... More

This national trust property is a former ancestral home. There is a beautiful marble and mahogany staircase, period furnishings and paintings. There is a tea room and shop. The grounds are impressive too. In November, it is nice but in the spring and summer the flowers are amazing. The outside of the house was used in the BBC drama 'Garrow's... More
