A most wonderful National Trust place to visit with a wide variety of things to do and see for all ages. We had booked our two grandchildren in for a cookery class. They were taught how to make and cook scones in the old kitchen and baked in the old oven of the house. There is an eatery that serves... More

It was a refreshing change from visiting the enormous expanse of historic castles, to the more compact but stately home of the Polloks. We loved the feeling of family history in each room and imagined ourselves in that era. Indeed! Then to see the servants quarters... quite a contrast. We enjoyed lunch in the restaurant (which is the old kitchen... More

This may not be the biggest stately home I've visited but it certainly is the friendliest! We visited ten years ago and loved the house and found the staff and volunteers so friendly, we thought it might be a one off. However , returning last month, we found all the people there really helpful and friendly- it must be the... More

Beautiful house and settings. Great and helpful staff on hand to help. one thing we found as a minus, was the wedding that was held at the house during visiting hours. Walking through the rooms of this beautiful house was a bit strange to the extreemly strong scent of Garlic bread being cooked for the wedding dinner. Another issue was... More

Fantastic to see "how the other half lived" in this stately home, now a well known venue for weddings. Beautiful house steeped in history and full of magnificent paintings, silverware, crockery etc; gorgeous grounds. Volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly and eager to tell you about the house and it's past occupants. There are so many rooms here one could... More

This is a National Trust property and so there is an (steep)entry fee if you are not a member, but once a year or so there is a free entry day. You do need to pay for parking if you are using the main car-parks, though you can park in the lane areas - spaces permitting - for free. The... More

We visited Pollok House on a wet July day and were brightened up by the warm welcome we received and the interesting exhibits in this grand house. All of the volunteers were so helpful and well informed and the paintings and exhibits really captured our imagination. The formal gardens were well maintained and worth walking around despite the damp weather.... More

This is a must - you could spend all day in the house and gardens, and another at the Burrell art collection. The house has open rooms on 3 floors, brilliant guides in many of the rooms, and a cafe and shop in the original kitchen. The gardens are superb and offer easy walks around manicured gardens as well as... More

Have been here many times with both sets of grandchildren. They love going into different rooms trying to different items. Always determined to find everything on list they are given when going in. Went one Christmas to see Mrs. Clause. Taken in to room with blazing fire and table set for Santa's return and had chat with Mrs. Claus. Really... More

Great architecture and beautiful interior decoration. Worth a visit. Also beautiful gardens. Pity one can't take photos.
