This is a wonderful historic golf club as well as being the venue for the Open Championship in 2016. The Old Course is a very stiff test of golf with only the straight drive being safe (usually). Very well bunkered and some of the best links greens I have seen. The signature Postage Stamp hole is a real toughie. As... More

Played this course last week, lovely course but the staff did not do the course justice.Only interested in getting money from your wallet and after if you complain its just ignored. If your down this way go to Turnbery you will be better looked after than Troon.

My wife and I played at Troon at the beginning of June and it was a mixed experience. The Club has a magnificent clubhouse and the staff ( with one notable exception) were all very friendly and helpful. We were not enthusiastic about being paired up with a couple of strangers but luckily the two American gentlemen concerned turned out... More

Extremely welcoming and what an awesome golf course. They have relaxed their rules on visitors days which allows you to wander freely around the magnificent clubhouse.

One of the top courses in the world lived up to it's reputation in terms of the golf course itself but also the friendliness of staff, restaurant, etc. Royal Troon overlooks the Firth of Clyde and has the main train line to Glasgow go right past the course. In fact the #1 handicap hole that runs entirely next to the... More

I visited on 28th April 2014 as part of a group of 8 golfers from Ireland. We were made feel very welcome and reviews of staff being unhelpful are way off the mark. The course was in excellent condition and were lucky to play on a calm day. As a group of mixed handicaps 5- 17, we played the yellow... More

A group of us did our first golf excursion overseas and we just had to play at Royal Troon. How glad we were. The best golfing experience we had in Scotland and that includes St Andrew's and Carnousti. It was a chilly, cold morning with a wee bit of wind but everyone in the clubhouse to the pro-shop to the... More

Fantastic links course , a truly authentic Scottish golfing experience. The staff are really friendly and the clubhouse experience is not to be missed. The oldest sets of clubs in the world belong to Royal Troon and they are on display here. When nature calls the call need not be answered "al fresco " there are restrooms discreetly appointed behind... More

This was definitely a must play on the Scotland British Open Rota! The course was in great shape and the caddies were young but very good! The course played very tough which made it all the more enjoyable!
