An impromptu trip to the gardens was the highlight of our day, the summerhouse tea shop is a delight and Rachel, the server couldn't have been more helpful, polite and sweet. Can't wait to spend the afternoon wandering around the plants.

On a sunny, cool day we arrived in the midst of a plant sale, so the parking and entrance were busy, however we quickly escaped into the main park, diverted by Gruffalo's, foxes and small mice being spotted by happy young children. We found the gardens well laid out and full of colour and interest. We were also delighted to... More

brilliant time spent with a very excited three year old grandson. Beautiful gardens and glass houses. Not a lot of things to eat in the tea room, just cakes! Need to get up to date with ability to pay with card. Would have spent more in the gift shop if this service had been available.

Decided to seek it out, as it was very cold and windy at the beach. Walk to it from town using the Lade Braes and Viaduct walk, as it is a lovely walk. There is free parking though, but not a lot. Entry fee of £5 seems a lot for adults, but its well worth it to support the fantastic... More

Lovely to walk around on a sunny day. Gruffalo trail is good but gruffalo could be a bit bigger lol. Pity there was no soap or toilet roll in the toilets as that was the only let down for me

Had a great morning on the Gruffalo trail. Great idea to keep the kids interested. Kids get in free but it's £5 for each adult. The pathways for the Gruffalo trail are buggy and wheelchair friendly. There are a few greenhouses and the gardens would be a good place for a picnic. There are some picnic tables near the greenhouses.... More

We had a really great day out on Tuesday. Very friendly staff and little surprises around every corner. Very good value plant shop at exit, (we bought a tree)we didn't try tearoom as we brought picnic. Gruffalo hunt very good indeed and loved the wooden roof tile idea to decorate for outdoor classroom. Very peaceful and great for children and... More

The botanic gardens seems to be coming alive again. This was my first visit in a long time, and I was delighted to go on a gruffalo hunt where various grannies and grampas were trailing kids to follow the Gruffalo story. I think we all know that the gruffalo should be a bit taller, but he is lovely! Go and... More

We are so glad that our renewed enthusiasm and energy is shining through to the visitor experience. Whilst a lovely sunny day is certainly best, with our huge warm and tropical glasshouses, we think the Botanic Garden is also one of the best places to be in St Andrews when the weather is terrible, and we all know that can...
