I love this small botanics, from the nocks and crannies, rock and herb gardens to the glass houses with so many varieties of interesting plants. There is a fair bit of information to interest families, especially what some plants are used for. The coffee shop is very small and can be noisy due to acoustics with small children. Staff need... I visited this garden with my cousins, on a drizzly afternoon. I really enjoyed it! Umbrellas were provided by a very friendly staff member for those who needed them, and we strolled around the garden, enjoying the presentation. Don't let a little rain stop you, if in the area. The flowers and plants are well presented and identified, for your... More

We were staying near the downtown area, so we could walk to this, although it was a long walk. The flowers and plants were beautiful.

Great that kids were free and our daughters loved it...! However £5 an adult was ridiculous and we received absolutely nothing or gained anymore than the children. Wording it different would make all the diffrence "£5 a family" this has a total different play on price to parents especially when it come to value for money.

Nice gardens, relaxing walks, informative with a small cafe. Reasonable cost £5 an adult but reductions for children and concessions but check website for latest prices. Well sign posted from the town centre and you can walk to it if feeling energetic as car park can get a bit crowded. Nice place for a picnic and can spend all day... More

We went with a 7 year old who loved the Gruffalo trail. Lots of nice greenhouses and outdoor garden areas. Kids go free (as do students!)

Lots to see for gardeners and kids. The herbaceous borders were in full bloom, as were the rock gardens had some interesting and unusual plants. There is a kids club and a "Gruffalo" trail which leads throughout the garden. The small tearoom was perfect, hot and cold drinks, together with cakes and biscuits at reasonable prices. The floral and vegetable... More

Lovely gardens and easy to find - however remember to take cash as they do not have card facilities meaning we had to scrape together pennies for entry and couldn't get any refreshments. Children's workshops were fun and boys enjoyed looking for the creatures hidden around the greenhouses. We only went for the Gruffalo trail which is exciting for younger... More
