we used to go here often, at £2 each to get in that was fine, we enjoyed walking round the gardens and in the greenhouses, having a leisurely walk and a seat here and there. At certain times of year they would have open days and local produce for sale. But to our shock, when we last went the entrance... More

Hi Cara, we are sorry that you felt the price increase implemented in April 2015 was disproportionate and would like to explain this, together with the various ways to visit more affordably (including free!). The increase to £5 for adults brings the price in line with the bottom end of the normal price range for equivalent botanic gardens in the... More

If you are fit you can walk down from the town, otherwise drive or take a taxi. You might even be able to take public transport.

The gardens are hidden in a residential area of the town but worth the walk along the old railway. the glasshouses are excellent and there is a Gruffalo trail for kids

We chose this place due to its beauty... Right from the beginning, we were so well taken care of for our Handfasting Celebration! Unfortunately the day was rainy and we weren't able to enjoy the magnificent flora, but we were given one of the winter houses to avoid getting wet; even this environment with pretty plants was delightful! Whatever the... More

On our previous visits we have noticed the lack of a nice place to sit and have a coffee or tea - problem solved! There is now a place at the entrance with proper tables and chairs where you can get real tea and coffee, a great improvement on the hut with the machine. The gardens are always interesting, with... This is an excellent place to take the whole family. The range of plants is impressive and well labelled. Lots of space for children to wander -and the gruffalo trail is well worth a visit.

I was so pleasantly surprised about the size and natural beauty of this pretty botanic garden. The winding trails and plant varieties are clearly marked, and the ponds are so peaceful. It was worth the trip here to relax from the hectic pace of sight seeing in St. Andrews.

Myself and my wife visited at the weekend with our 3 year old as we wanted to take him to see the Gruffalo. unfortunately the display had ended the week before but we were told that some of the bits would still be out, so we set off. To his delight almost 90% of the signs and characters were still... More
