Owner description: A golfing Mecca for the most accomplished golfer to the enthusiastic amateur, a trip to St Andrews Links is one which realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide. From the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course to Tom Morris’s masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf. Perhaps most fascinating however, is the fact that all seven courses at St Andrews Links are public and open to everyone. St Andrews Links is the largest public golfing complex in Europe. From the terrifying sight of Hell Bunker on the Old Course to the gentle slopes of the Balgove, the Home of Golf has become the ultimate golfing destination for all ages and abilities. The three championship courses; the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course run parallel to each other along the famous St Andrews Links West Sands of St Andrews. Nestled on the opposite side of the Links are the Eden, Strathtyrum and the only nine hole course, the Balgove. A five minute drive from town is the seventh course, the award winning Castle Course which offers dramatic views over St Andrews from its spectacular cliff top location. Away from the course, explore the fantastic facilities St Andrews Links has to offer. Learn the game where it was first played at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy. The Academy offers first-class tuition from PGA-Qualified St Andrews Links professionals and is home the only Callaway Performance Centre (custom-fit) in Scotland. The driving range has over 60 bays, including 22 indoors, and a landing zone which is over 400 yards long. All mats are air cushioned, and five bays include the Power Tee automated system. There is short game area, which includes a replica of Road Bunker, and a putting green, once the second on the Eden Course and regarded as one of the finest in St Andrews. Shop our fantastic range of official merchandise from our five retail stores, the Old Course Shop, the 18th Green Shop, the Links Clubhouse Shop, the Castle Course shop and the oldest golf shop in the world – Tom Morris. Finally relax in the Swilcan Restaurant in the Links Clubhouse, The Eden Clubhouse or the Castle Course Clubhouse with a wee dram as you reflect on your visit to the Home of Golf.

There is nothing to dislike, a dream come true, to golf on The Old Course, take a picture on the Bridge with your clubs (have to sneak that in) have a Pint at the end of the day and just take it all in.

We were fortunate enough to play the New Course at the weekend. Two couples, friends and golf fanatics we splashed out for a weekend in St Andrews at the Hotel and partake of the golf facilities and in all honesty it is everything you ever hoped it would be. You could just feel the history emanating from the entire area... More

Fabulous links courses, very accessible. Bit of a golf pilgrimage to go and see/play where the greats of golf have played since the game itself began. A 24 needed to play the Old Course and at this time of the year no trollies permitted.

On my recent visit I did not play golf but the links reputation is well deserved; golf of the highest quality and amazing history with an outstanding golf museum makes this place unique This time we just walked part of the Jubilee Course, on the beach and visited the New Clubhouse. This has great views over the 17th and 1st... More

We found out quite by accident that the Links are opened as a public park on Sundays. There is a "putting green" called the Himalayas that is lots of fun. People were out walking their dogs and enjoying the fact that the most famous links in the world can be shared by non-golfers and golfers alike. An added tip: go... More

You're quite right, the Old Course is closed for play on Sundays which means the public are free to walk the famous fairways. Thank you for giving us 5 stars. More

After clubs, shoes, a caddie (and tip), and a round of golf it was about $300-350 USD and it was absolutely worth every penny. A fanstastic, challenging, and scenic course that's unlike any other. If you enjoy golf, it's a must visit.

Our school friends from back in the 60's were staying with us, last weekend, and we decided to take them to our favourite visit - St Andrews. It was a lovely day and after a Sunday brunch in Hotel Du Vin we walked down the 18th fairway of the Old Course. A friendly passer-by took some I-pad photos of us... More

I have been playing golf since I was 12, (now into my 50's), I have played some of the best courses Australia has to offer but nothing comes close to playing St Andrews, I was lucky enough to play the new course one day the the old course the next, and although I have played better I don't think I... Arrived early morning without a booking. Finally got on after a six hour wait. Well worth it. The staff could not have been any more helpful and polite. My caddy Steve was great.
