The gallery is a fresh, stylish, welcoming space which occupies the whole ground floor of the property and is arguable one of the best gallery spaces in Scotland. In the open plan, yet intimate setting with extensive hanging space, it has a large, varied and constantly refreshed selection of original art including work by George Devlin, Francis Boag, Alberto Morrocco, Jack Morrocco, John Kingsley, Marj Bond, Malcolm Cheape, David Mackie Cook and Joe Fan, amongst others. The Gallery shows a mixed exhibition all year ‘round with two major solo exhibitions each year which have included “sell out” exhibitions for Scottish artists, Francis Boag, Robert Macmillan, Malcolm Cheape and John Kingsley, PAI.Roderick Fraser, the gallery owner, is a fourth generation art dealer with over 30 years experience in owning and managing galleries in Dundee and Edinburgh. His family business dates back to 1862.The galleries are unique, intimate spaces in the heart of St Andrews showcasing some of the very best of contemporary Scottish artists. « less

Joyous and eclectic collection of works by established and emerging artists. Always something of interest.

For a small town, St Andrews has got a lot of first rate independent retailers, and the Fraser gallery easily ranks alongside the best of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Really good contemporary Scottish artists, and big works too. Mainly pictures (I'd like to see some more sculpture), but always worth a visit. The owners are knowledgeable and welcoming, its clear they... More

There's always a friendly atmosphere at the Fraser Gallery. You're welcome to take your time to view the colourful, frequently changing exhibitions. The art on display ranges from the figurative to the abstract. Scottish artists are often represented, some local, and at the well-advertised previews may come along to discuss their art with guests. A visit to the Gallery is... More

A stimulating fine art gallery. Not huge or overstuffed but very worth a visit. Aint full of bric a brac or basically gifts which loads of galleries do. Just focused on the visual arts. Expensive...you not spendin your pocket money here, but professional and expensive feeling. A good chance to see contemporary 'greats' and tomorrow's collectables. Would recommend

When I bring groups of artists on tour to Scotland, I always list Fraser Gallery as a "must see" in St Andrews. The work carried is of superior quality; not the usual tourist images.

The variety of Scottish Contemporary Artist Exibitiins over the summer was brilliant. It was great to visit each one and enjoy an amazing selection of stunning works. Roll on next year!

Roderick and Louise run a beautiful gallery selling the best in contemporary Scottish Art, the gallery is very relaxed and unpretentious. Framing is stunning and I always find a painting I would love to purchase each time we visit, especially David Cook.

I see that other reviews also use the "word" excellent in their title - with good reason. The Fraser Gallery (and Fraser East, I tend to think of them as one) show excellent contemporary Scottish art, in wonderful settings. Roderick and Louise (the owners) are knowledgeable and welcoming, as is Alan, who does all of their framing work (to a... More
