Very informative and amusing tour by the deceased Mr Clapperton and his trusty man of many faces sidekick. The 7pm tour prob the best one to have of you got kids. Plenty to keep all ages interested and tailored for younger ears when necessary. Def recommend

This was a great 1hr walk around a bit of the old town, where we were entertained by two "deceased" gentlemen! My kids (13yr old and 11yr old) had a fun time and we were lucky with the weather! Great way to use Tesco vouchers

We done a Caddies & Witchery tour over 10 years ago when last in Edinburgh. Booked again as we loved it so much & again they didn't disappoint. The tour is both fun & informative. My cheeks hurt by the end from laughing so much. Going back again in a few days to do the Murder Mystery Tour- can't wait.... More

Good and very bad jokes, interesting facts and strange people leaping out at you to make you jump. Great fun!

Meets outside the Witchery Restaurant (opposite the camera Obscura). A fun evening tour of the Royal Mile area. Our guide and his comical, multi-character "helper", were good humoured and energetic despite the pouring rain. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and the children loved it. We attended the 7pm tour which was busy, even on a cold and wet March evening.... More

One of the highlights of our trip to Edinburgh ! The staff had great costumes, always polite and interesting and extremely funny !! We saw other tours working their way round the city at the same time and all seemed to be pretty bored. When they saw our group having a laugh they had envy in their eyes !! Definitely... More

We did the murder and mystery walk on Sunday night and I have never laughed so much! Very informative with historical facts about some of the more gruesome parts of Edinburgh’s history including witchcraft and Burke and Hare but told in an amusing and engaging way. The guide (and his sidekick) we had were very funny. The guide was very... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
