A tour of 5-6 pubs in Edinburgh? Check. Hilarious and also educational performances about the greats of Scottish literature? Check. As someone that would never normally go for something like a literary pub tour, I was skeptical, and only went to appease a good friend of mine who's just had an offer on her book. I loved it, and I... More

A truly unique and enjoyable evening. Its like being audience to a play that moves from pub to pub with artful banter about the Greats of Scottish literature. The players provide a good balance of education and entertainment, and it is a fun way to see noteworthy pubs in both New and Old Town. Well worth the money and the... More

We followed Rick Steeves suggestion and took the Literary Pub Tour. We enjoyed the dialogue of the actors which took us to about 5 pubs and darkened plazas. The actors were great and very engaging, even after the show. We enjoyed learning about the pubs, meeting other people and getting to know a bit more about the city. There were... More

Enjoyed this tour, but would have preferred if the guides had stayed in character throughout. There is a lot of walking but you can't really tell - the two hours pass quickly.

I bought tour tickets for my fathers birthday and we had a loverly time. The tour was easy listening, informative and fun. Our guides (a lady and gentleman) acted out a great show and were very professional. We walked from Grassmarket up to the Royal Mile and then into the New Town. I live in Edinburgh so the tour didn't... More

Took the evening tour and had a great time! Entertaining and interesting, with stops at some great pubs. One word of caution there is a good deal of walking and a significant portion is uphill, some of the people in the tour had a bit of a tuff time. My wife and I loved it and would recommend it.

We had supper in the pub located downstairs from the meeting point, it was a good meal and convenient for the tour (just a side note for planning purposes). We were easily able to find the tour meeting point and joined the group. The tour guide opened the program with several unprofessional political jokes directed at the US, which I... More

I had a great evening on the literary pub tour led by Dave and Mark, who were two fantastic actors. There were quite a lot of breaks, but the city was overcrowded due to the Festival and tattoo. This tour is a great introduction to Scottish literature, the actors were very engaging and entertaining. Some cultures might not understand the concept... More

In amongst all the dramas and shows of the Fringe Festival is this genuinely brilliant and fun experience. Instead of becoming just another sheep led in just another tour group, you have the chance to get to know interesting people and together you can all amble happily along to some incredible watering holes with two very passionate and professional guides.... We had Keith and Simon. They were wonderful. Funny and knowledgeable. My wife, in-laws, and I spent a fun evening walking about Edinburgh and listening to great stories and having a couple of drinks. We also met a few interesting people on the tour. We unanimously agreed that this was the highlight of our trip to Edinburgh.
