really enjoyed a stroll along the promenade beside the beach.I am not one for frolicking in the sand and left that to folk much younger than me but lots of folk enjoying the place. It is a lovely place in the summer sunshine and plenty of places nearby to enjoy a coffee or a beer.

I visited portobello in a not completley sunny day. If you want to relax and have a nice relaxing walk take the bus and go to it. The beach is really worthy and nice to be visited.

This is a lovely little beach which was pleasant in the hot weather we experienced during the end of July. Not commercialised and a real find away from the hussle and bussel of the city.

My friends and I had a brilliant time at the beach. It was a beautiful day, but there wasn' much to do as they have knocked down one of the amusement parks...I used to come to this beach all the time, with family and friends, but it's not like it used to be atall.

Take a bus from the City Centre and stroll along the prom. Nice green van featured on pics was excellent for coffee and a chat! Didn't use it but told the baths on the front are period and great for a swim. Popular with families.

If you are in Edinburgh and have only been around the city center (and the weather is nice), take a bus to the beach at Portobello. Nice, long, sandy beach. Lots of tea shops along the front. Popular with locals and visitors alike.

Used to go to Portobello Beach when I was a child nearly 60 years ago and loved it. Today its still a great family day out (when the sun shines). Visited this week on a sunny day and the Promenade and Beach was vibrant. Family strolling on the Prom and playing on the beach all very happy. The cafes were... More

Go here most weeks all weathers and is really getting back to the way it used to be we like to walk our dog and the kids love it, today was a very hot day and my son loved building sandcastles and swimming in the sea! Course it would be better if it was maintained a tiny bit better but... More
