We were advised to go here by a friend who lives in Edinburgh as we wanted to watch the Scotland v Ireland football match . We asked the bar Man who was wearing a Scotland shirt if they were showing the game which he said they were so we ordered a few drinks and some food before the game .... More

After arriving into Edinburgh we were advised to go to the Three Sisters as it is Rugby Pub/Restaurant - we decided to avoid all the local restaurants as we wanted the 'Rugby' experience for a burger and chips we should have taken note of the emptiness of the restaurant at lunchtime but we found out the hard way and it... It is always packed/overcrowded during weekends. The problem is; it is almost impossible to get a drink (only one) in 20-30 mins. The only thing they have to do is to serve you a pint of beer/cocktail but they are somehow too slow and it takes ages. The bigger problem is; people don't respect the queue. They come and get... Spent a few hours here for a stag do recently, tied in with the recent rugby match. Arrived having never been before and my first impressions were positive, the place was busy, and its incredibly large too, loads of areas to access a bar..screens for match to watch including big projector, and greeted by staff who were all very polite.... Thank you for looking after us and supplying us with a private room for our hen party! It was a great venue and we were well looked after with great value cocktails! We were helped to rearrange the furniture in the room and showed how to use the dock for music. We decorated the room and the bar attendants kindly... More

Hi Mhairi Y, I'm really happy to hear that your evening was a success and that you enjoyed your time with us. It is a shame you didn't get to throw a few cocktails around with the staff in our masterclass but it's the atmosphere that really counts and it sounds like you had a blast! Kind Regards, More

£4.70 for a gin and tonic... In a terrible glass, with no lime "available". Broken toilet seat and urine all over the floor, not to mention the flusher that wouldn't work. Going home for a shower with some bleach

We we booked into the Three Sisters for the man plank and a session. To be honest the man plank was a waste of money. You essentially get a burger and chips. There are nachos, wings and ribs and deep fried Indian starters with it but not exactly delicious. The two pint stein felt like it had no alcohol in... More

Hi Conner27, It’s already been a month since the Edinburgh Festival and we’re missing it dearly! Where else do you get to mix comedy, theatre, music and great food and drink with thousands of people visiting the city solely to enjoy it with you? Let me assure you that we don’t let the festival ending stop us, there’s still plenty... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
