My sister and I recently visited Scotland (September,2008). We stayed at the premium backpacker's on Cockburn St. for our first two nights in Edinburgh. I wandered into the Scotsman's Lounge one afternoon because it happened to be the closest pub to my hostel. They have live music every day of the week, great prices on pints, and an enormously warm attitude. My friend and I visited every night, and John Murphy, the friendliest pub owner on earth, welcomed us and made our visits there... more
