My young adult son and I went and had an hour massage each. I travel for work and pleasure and have experienced many massages in many countries. I can honestly say this wS definitely one of the best. I felt cared for, received great advice and walked away feeling 100% better than when I walked in. Don't miss out, take... More

We have been clients of this little hidden gem for years now and anywhere else we go we find it disappointing. This is as good as it gets if you are looking for a real treatment with long lasting benefits. Highly recommended! Top of the scale and 6 stars! Justin and Elona

I have been going to Shivago for years. Initially, I went to have treatment on my back and neck to relieve pain. Now, I go regularly as a preventative method. Other injuries (such as a knee and ankle problem) have been helped also through Shivago's treatments. Thai cupping works wonders! And not only does this treatment, amongst others, help me... More

I first had a Thai massage on holiday & found it a most effective style of massage for my ageing stiff muscles., so I was delighted to find that I could get a genuine traditional Thai massage close to home. I have been coming here for 3 years thoroughly recommend the treatments.

I'm a 20 year old student and suffer from a number of sports injuries, stress, and overall stiffness from sitting at a desk. Back at home, I would see a physical therapist every week to help loosen up my back. I hadn't seen anyone in about 5 months, and my back/neck was so bad it hurt to turn my head.... More

I am pleased to say that Shivago Thai Clinic is where I had one of the most relaxing massage treatments in the last 3 years. After the massage, not only did I feel relieved physically but most importantly l really felt good "inside" as well. The owners are warm, genuine, and inherently kind people. I am very grateful to have... More

My wife and I booked a thai massage in this spa. It's so handy just off the royal mile. From the moment we entered we were made to feel welcome and at home. I had a wonderful massage and great banter with the lady. The gent who performed my wifes massage was also a true expert she said. We had... More

I have a permanent problem with my neck – osteochondrosis, however, regular morning exercises and massage help me to lead an active life. But this July, after playing football, I got an acute attack of the neck pain. I was almost in panic since my masseur was away and the usual exercises didn’t help while the neck movement was strongly... More

My bud and I just happened upon the clinic in passing and thank goodness that we did. The massage was amazing and the people were so kind. They even helped us find a good restaurant for dinner and a bunch of recommendations for our evening. They went above and beyond for us and really made our short trip in Edinburgh... More

After playing golf I was suffering with a restricted neck movement. Quite by chance, I visited The Shivago Clinic and within 30 minutes had much improved movement. I have never had such a good massage; I just wish the clinic was in Liverpool and not in Edinburgh! I think I will make it an essential part of any future trips... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
