We go at least 4 times a year, they usually do preview shows for the seasons performances that are £10 per ticket, no allocated seating. The Lyceum is my favorite Edinburgh theatre, just saw the production Union and the writing and acting were first class. The staff are always helpful, and in the grand circle you get a great view... The theatre itself is well worth seeing, imagining the grandeur of years gone by. The balconies were beautifully decorated, the celing similarly so, with a huge chandelier. The play I saw was Noel Cowards "Private Lives" which was a real tonic, so funny and very well received by an appreciative audience

I took a friend to see Private Lives at the Lyceum this evening. She LOVED it and so did I. The sets were superb ( how I want that Parisian apartment). Excellent performances and the Noel Coward wit just flew around that lovely theatre. I booked stalls box seats which made it more private and with a glass of wine... More

This building is beautiful from the outside, lovely white, that lights up that area of lothain road at night. Inside the chandelier is lovely and gives great welcome. The theatre itself is not that large but is just perfectly proportioned to enjoy intimate show and feel really involved in the shows.

My wife and I enjoyed our 30th anniversary watching A Christmas Carol at the Lyceum Theatre. Wonderful staff, cozy atmosphere and a great production.

Have to admit it has been a few years since I last visited the Lyceum. I had entirely forgotten what a lovely, intimate theatre this is. Tickets had been booked online to see A Christmas Carol. Collection was effortless at the box office, and we had a relaxing drink beforehand (numerous local restaurants clos by). It was also so pleasant... More

Visited here a while back. Very nice. Ornate & cosy. Just a nice size. Love the chandeliers. A touch of class. Good location.

Went on Boxing Day to see a Christmas carol, the tickets being a surprise present from our children. Never been to the theatre before, but it was really lovely and charming. The show was excellent and really well done, with clever use of sets and cast to tell the take of Scrooge. Though a small cast, with no supporting band... More

Went to see this with friends at the weekend, lovely theatre with a great atmosphere. Staff were pleasant and helfpul. Prices on a par with other theatres in Edinburgh. Toilets were imaculate. The production itself was just wonderful. Sets and cast were great and well carried out. Only a small cast but this didn't detract from a first class performance.

The book sold thousands of copies in its first day & this production should be a sell out. The sets & costumes are simple but the story is carried by the enthusiasm & experience of the small cast. Some were better singers than others, but -who cares ! It was the joy in the tale that came across, as it... More
