The Old & new town tour (1pm-4.30pm) which has five food stops with two wine tastings and a single cask malt whisky tasting ensuring you will not need to worry about dinner in the evening. The Canongate tour (10am-1pm) enjoys six stops including a Bloody Mary cocktail and breakfast canapes to get the tour off and running. By the end there will be no need for lunch. Alan was a great host, and a fount of interesting Edinburgh facts. We learned things about the city we'd never have thought to ask, and it deepened our appreciation for Scotland's food history in general. The food itself offered very good examples of Scottish fare. The haggis was the best I'd eaten; so too was the smoked salmon. The route... More

This is the best way to see the city of Edinburgh......a great city tour while eating & drinking. Alan Chalmers was our guide and he was wonderful...knowledgeable and funny. The use of head sets was great as you could hear everything while walking thru the streets. Lots of foods & drinks to sample and all were interesting and delicious. I... More

Definitely recommended - Alan was a great guide, and this was a cool way to explore and learn more about the city, all while eating delicious food at restaurants which I wouldn't have gone into had I been on my own. Whisky Club for the win!

Had a wonderful time on this tour. Alan is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We enjoyed all of the stops we made and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the dishes. We also liked the fact that we walked. Good way to burn off all the calories from the food and drink we consumed at every stop.... More

My wife and I took the tour and enjoyed it enormously. There were just four of us in the tour with Julie as our guide. What made this tour special was the very interesting venues chosen, the variety of foods and drinks offered, and the listening devices provided that allowed us to hear what the guide was saying while walking... This was a great tour to start our trip to Edinburgh as we were able to see a lot of the city, as well as try some local foods/drinks. I would definitely recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip so that you can find your way around and know where you want to go back to while you're... More

The tour was Great! Our group of 6 included a young couple with their babe in arms, two other individuals, and an older couple. We walked at a moderate pace and enjoyed the sights even though our sunny day was interrupted by an off and on rain. The food was delicious and so were the beverages. Alan's sense of humor... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I was with my mom and sister on a trip we all three loved it. They were also very willing to accommodate that one of us is gluten free. We went to 5 different stops, each had food and drinks to sample!!

This sounded like a great idea: eat and drink, walk around Edinburgh led by a tour guide. It was indeed a great idea. Not only did we get a wonderful tour and great information about the city, we visited places where we might not ever thought to go, enjoying the food, drink, and ambiance. Our guide Julie was so very... More
