We both really enjoyed the "Mary King's Close" experience over the weekend. Our guide Chris T was informative and fun: cheesy jokes galore but good with the tour group, especially the kids. We would recommend this to any visitor to Edinburgh.

Really enjoyed our tour of the Real Mary King's Close. Our tour guide "Agnes" aka Mel spoke in a clear concise manner. She was funny and quite knowledgeable. She even did a question and answer session when we were delayed in a "side room" while another tour group passed. The tour really helped in understanding how people lived in the... More

Seen this on the TV so having an interest in history seemed the place to visit. It was interesting and the guide was informative (though I don't really like them acting in character). The only comment I would make is that the part of the tour you do last (walking up the Close) would be best done first so you... More

This tour is a very good way for you to get an idea of the conditions in Edinburgh in the 18th century. Don't go if you're claustrophobic or get nervous in dimly lit places.

Our guide was the poet Robert Fergusson and he was charming and informative. A time in history I'm not sorry to have missed but very interesting re-creation of that time and how they lived.

17th century Edinburgh brought to life by guides in period costume. Our guide showed us how the people of the time lived and died. The "close" is a hidden underground of Edinburgh and quite worth the visit. It takes about and hour to go through the site, and although it is a bit dark, it is fine for children. This... More

Great tour! What an interesting place! The kids loved it too! A real taste of history below the buildings near the castle.

A very informative and interesting tour. So much history and a very surreal experience to be underground. Our tour guide Marc, was very knowledgable and totally hilarious. He kept the whole tour group engaged the entire time. I'm glad I did this tour.
