This is a excellent tour. Very slick considering there a four tours going on per hour. It lasts an hour but the time fly's over. Our guide was Keith. He did an excellent job of giving us a feeling of how life must have been and was very entertaining. Its certainly not like the Edinburgh dungeon with people jumping out... More

An excellent attraction, very informative and interesting, the guide made it fun and real. A must for families or groups, young children may get scared as there are some dark passages. Its not scary in general though, just stories of real life people.

An enjoyable experience from start to finish. I have been here many times but this was the first with my girlfriend. It was very enjoyable, and every visit seems to bring something different. Our tour guide, Kara, was very informative and added an element of fun to the proceedings

Really glad we did this tour. It wasn't about ghosts or scaring us but was about the history. Really fascinating

The tour was great, and quite interesting. It was cool to see how people once lived in such tiny spaces and made do with what they could get. Good shoes are a must though, as there are many uneven surfaces, like cobblestone around, and the close it itself has a steep incline. Take extra caution, especially in wet or cold... More

On the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Real Mary King's Close, is an excellent choice to get a taste of the life and the people until the early 1900's. The tour guide was excellent, with respect to the place, well informed and with humor. You will visit real houses used at the time and learn stories for some real persons who... More

On our recent visit to Edinburgh we decided to go and visit here as was recommended by family members. We are glad we did ! It is a well run attraction with very well spoken and educated tour guides that managed to make you feel you were back living in this era of time. Our guide was Keith and have... More

We enjoyed the tour a whole lot. There was rain on the forecast and we figured there might be an alternative to pub-hopping so we booked the tour. Sarah, our tourguide, was lovely and very, very entertaining. She played her role really well, without being cheesy about it. She made jokes outside her scripted parts and acted very naturally. She... More

We had a brilliant guide who seemed to love his job and really took on the part he was playing. He really made our 1-hour tour interesting with lots of stories and facts. The “Close” itself is fascinating. Amazing stuff…would recommend a visit here. *Note* it is advisable to book in advance is each tour can only take 20 people... More
