An acting master-class by the very funny Chris T brought to life what could have been an ever so slightly dull tour. We were thoroughly entertained and at the same time learned a bit about historic Edinburgh and the role that a squeaky plastic rat had to play in the Black Death.

Great method acting by Chris T as Steven Boyd from 400 years ago. This made the tour very fun and informative. He did forget his lines sometimes, although resurrected the tour with some funny jokes and had a charming interview with a mouse. All I can say is the tour was a revelation ChrisT.

We had the most amazing time here. Our guide Lynn was very helpful and answered all our questions. Or small group of four all enjoyed ourselves. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Visited last week and had Mel as our guide, she was interesting and informative. The location is great and easy to find and the tour was fascinating and well organised. Would really recommend this place to visit!

We had heard about this must-see, fairly new attraction in Edinburgh. I looked it up online and it seemed pretty neat so we added it to our list of things to see. The experience is a good one and worth the money, simply based on the history that is explained to you. The fact that you are walking underneath the... More

I love interactive history, and this was really good. Our guide was very interesting through the tour, but he didn't overwhelm you and he let you explore in your own time a bit too. It was fascinating to see what is left of the close, and the videos and models helped you imagine what it must have looked like in... More

We decided to go and visit this attraction after seeing a flyer in our hotel. We are pleased we did. The tour guide was fantastic and very informative. The tour itself took around an hour and is worth a look. Not sure it is worth the full £13 entrance fee each but if you haven't been it is worth seeing.

Pedro proud Spanish Ambassador (or Mario) was our guide. He was informative without being boring, entertaining without being irritating. We did think the experience a little over-priced, we were on a tight budget, but well worth doing nevertheless. And great to find something to do at 9pm on a Saturday night besides hanging round a bar. I walked down the... More

Beware. We were looking forward to this but they don't admit under 5 year olds due to some health and safety madness about it being "quite dusty"

Thank you for your review, Unfortunately, we cannot allow under 5's on the tour, as stated in our ‘Access’ policies and terms and conditions, both on our website and on our leaflets. The tour operates in an environment which is not only dusty, it has low level lighting and being a historical site, the floors are also uneven. Our priority... More
