We went into this expecting a tour that was a bit cheesy and hokey, and while it was an interesting tour (with a ride), it doesn't come close to a tour of an actual working distillery. It's tremendously popular, being about a minute from Edinburgh Castle, and very crowded. The "tour" is really a ride in the whisky-barrel through a... more

I was lucky enough to visit before the official opening of the new Whisky vault and I was ver impressed. It might not sound so amazing to see so many whiskys displayed in that room, especially if you're not a whisky officanado (as I am not) but it was a great way to end the tour. I think the barrel... more

We visited during our Easter Holidays with friends staying in the city and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the new tour. I believe that it has just opened with a new barrel ride (nothing like the old one we went on years ago) and it is topped off with a single malt tasting in the world's largest whisky collection - (my... more

Don't bother to go, save you money and spend it on a few nips in the Bow Bar instead. Having been on real Whisky Tours, this one ridding in a barrel was extremely poor and did little to explain the production process. The film presentation and the foreign tour presenters did little to enhance the experience and to cap it... more

We have emailed to discuss this visitor's experience and ascertain what went wrong, but he has not responded. Thankfully we have had amazing feedback about our new tour from all of our other visitors.

We went to the centre on 25 Oct 2008, thinking we would be informed, entertained and a few samples of Whisky, how wrong we were. The price was £9:50 each. We had a guide who, guided us to three different rooms then left us to watch a video in each room. The "tour", around the building, culminated in a children’s... more

I went to check this out on the very first day of my trip to edinburgh and even though the tour was a little cheesy, and the movies were hardly oscra winning stuff, the staff are really on the ball. Our tourguide Euan was very friendly and was well able to answer any questions we had, and then on arriving... more

It's a good place to see wide range of whisky that I wouldnt have known before the visit. There's also a restaurant / bar for us to taste the whisky... and enjoy our day there. more

Many people don't know this but the heritage center actually has a bar and you do not have to take the tour (which is supposedly poor) in order to get in. Just breeze past the entrance and head toward the gift shop, go to your right. I wasn't a fan of Scotch until visiting this place. We arrived late in... more

This was informative and the wee dram and the free glass were a surprise at the start but the ending of the tour was a bit flat and the guide did not really tell us where to go and people were wandering a bit. Alos some people were under the impression that you get another choice of a dram at... more

Tour was over priced, cheesy, out dated and dull! Save your money and visit a actual Whiskey Distillery outside of town or a friendly pub to learn about whiskey. Exhibits were laughable....actual dogs and cats were stuffed! Yuck! Guide was embarassed by the end of the tour! Edinburgh is amazing you can find something more fun! more
