This was my 3rd trip but I hadn't been for a few years. It was pretty much the same as I remembered - it still has the 'wow' factor. The visit is self-paced - you take as long as you like to go around the yacht. There's plenty to see. The addition of the Royal Tea Room on the top... More

The boat is nothing impressive if you have seen other Royal residences. The boat is simple and well maintained but nothing to steal many hours from your vacation in Scotland. You can get there by bus, not far from the center. The access is in the Mall at Ocean Terminal, a very well-designed mall with a coffee place overlooking the... More

Great tour of the yacht. However; the afternoon tea on the deck was a little expensive and younger kids who are not aware of the Royal History got bored. Overall for us adults a great visit.

An expensive visit and you have to add a price of a meal afterwards, as you will get hungry after the tour, it is not a small yacht. The best thing is to get a bus to Ocean terminal (11, 22, 36 etc.) where you enter a large shopping mall. Frankly, the mall itself was not impressive for us but... More

On a tour of Edinburgh, we visited the Royal Yacht Britannia. It was such an eye opener we wondered why it was still not in service for Her Britannic majesty. The royal apartments were magnificent, but then we went to the royal marines 'barracks', below decks! They lived a little less regally, but in comfort I guess. Our guides were... More

The audio guide is excellent! We hadn't pre booked which meant a lengthy queue. Water and sweets were provided whilst waiting. Staff very helpful and obviously enjoy working there. Loads to see, very interesting and informative. Paid £12 which was less than expected as it took us a couple of hours. The layout is very good, enjoyed a Kir Royal... More

A wonderful afternoon on board the Britannia. There was much more to see than we had expected. The audio guides and information points were right up our street because we could amble at our own pace. Very good value for money, but we avoided the tearoom as it was very over priced.

Went with a coach party and some of us had difficulty getting about but was very pleased as there were lifts everywhere and ramps which was brilliant, also liked that when I got to the entrance to pick up my handset the attendant noticed that I walked with a stick so was able to put the handset on a harness... My husband basically agreed to do this tour for my sake - and to see the bridge and engine room. We both found it more interesting and enjoyable than we had expected and were pleased we went. (The barista's Britannia silhouette on my 'flat white' was a nice touch!)
