What a great time we all had on the Royal Yacht Britannia. The flow of the tour was very well organised, we were provided with a self-guided audio tour with different audio for the kids. The ship has been kept immaculately, there are so many interesting rooms and amazing artifacts and the tour really does give a feeling of opulence.... More

This was an extra ordinary experience made even more special as all the staff noticed my birthday badge and took extra special care of me to make sure i really enjoyed my amazing trip to the Royal Yacht. As you walk through the spectacular decks you really wonder what it would be like to be a Royal living on this... More

great self tour (with audio) of a vessel that is part of history. it is a great example of the saying "its good being the Queen (or King)". what a great way to get away from it all.

We had a lovely time in the Royal Yacht, with a friend from Yorkshire-the ship is beautifully kept by the trust. What made the experience so special was the staff - pleasant, courteous and helpful. The staff in the on board cafe were exceptional; whilst we were waiting and throughout our time there. The food is exceptional and the views... More

I will admit that we weren't sure what to expect from our audio tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia and didn't think we would end up spending most of the day there - but we loved it. We were traveling with 4 teens and everyone found it very interesting. We were fortunate enough to have a gentleman behind us who... More

Try if you can when in Edinburgh to visit the Royal Yacht. It is wonderful. You leave and enter each deck via a tower which has a lift and stairs. Be prepared to be amazed. From the bridge to the engine room you will feel that you are getting a privileged look behind the scenes of what the Queen so... More

This is a well organized self guided tour of a decommissioned royal yacht. You enter from a shopping mall oddly enough from attached walkway, starting at the top of the yacht. You will be outside part of the time going along the deck so dress for that. Very well marked along the path, audio guide provided with interesting information about... More

Caught bus from Edinburgh to Leith and were surprised to find ourselves outside a large shopping centre. Had to go to 2nd floor to join queue but were offered water and sweets while waiting. We used our Tesco vouchers to pay. We had to keep going outside on a very wet day to go the various levels but were very... More

Thanks for letting others know Britannia is an all-weather attraction, Dennis. It is lovely to hear how much you enjoyed your visit and the Gift Shop too. As you mention, it’s a great idea to combine your visit with a look around Ocean Terminal’s many shops and restaurants. We hope to welcome you back aboard again in the future. More

We were given a quick run down of what we would be seeing and hearing via an audio unit. Each section was numbered and a detailed explanation given. It was enlightening and gave a great insight of how the Royals enjoyed Britannia. One deck offers the opportunity to have afternoon tea and it was well worth it. I would recommend... More

Thank you for recommending Britannia so highly. We’re delighted to hear the audio handset really brought each of the Royal Yacht’s five decks to life for you. The Royal Deck Tea Room is a lovely treat too. Many thanks for visiting. More
