True to form, locals only sightsee when they have visitors! So glad we did. Very professional set up - audio tour excellent. Superb snapshot of a bygone age - just wish HRH Queen Elizabeth could still enjoy it. We would have liked to have had a coffee on board BUT - the cafe looked as though it was very expensive... more

Visited with my wife and son (early 20s) in late October. The late autumn sun glistened off the well maintained paintwork and scrubbed decks and the audio handsets allowed a leisurely stroll while those of us who are hard of hearing could repeat the commentary. Fasinating to compare the crews living conditions with that of the royals and interesting to... more

The Royal Yacht Britannia was great even though we went on a foul day. The yacht was brilliantly finished even though some of the windows were dirty and the flags looked quite tattered but over all it was really well kept. I didn't particularly want an audio tour but you have to have one and I ended up really enjoying... more

We had a tight schedule, and had worked out to go on this particular day, so although it was raining we still went. Had bought a £3.00 bus ticket which we used out to Leith where Britannia is. Had a lovely time and saw all of Britannia. Very interesting, couldn't imagine all the things which happened on this ship unti... more

Visited yesterday 20/9/09. Got the bus from the Princes Street up to the docks area and was pleasantly surprised at the shopping centre which meets you. The staff are very welcoming and I was happy to note that the guided commentary pack is included in the £10 entry fee (unlike the castle tour !). With a coffee break half way... more

Wow - we really enjoyed our visit to the Royal Yacht which has been maintained to the same standards as when she was in royal service, gleaming and immaculate, if a little old fashioned by modern standards. We thought the audio tour was excellent, allowing us to explore at our own pace and giving extra info when requested, and there... more

as a ex crew member of the yacht it was lovely to be able to show my wife around so she could see and experience all the things i had spoken about over the years. The day brought back so many happy times. A great day out for all the family and a happy memory for ever. It:s good to... more

What a pleasant surprise - from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, every member of staff was cheerful and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The tour is fine, the audio devices work well and you can take the tour at your own pace. The highlight though was lunch on board - it's no exaggeration... more

not a bad attraction , however i would have paid a bit more to have a guided tour by a person , not a mobile recorded info service. would have liked to have dined in the state dining room , very grand. more

I wasn't sure whether it would be worth the bus ride through Leith in order to look around Britannia, but it definitely was. The Adult entrance fee is £10, but if you send off a form, apparently you can go again for free. Included in the price is an audio guide - one of those things like an mp3 player... more
