I really enjoyed this self-guided tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia. You are given a listening device and are able to move about at your own pace and take as long as you like at each location. There is so much history contained on this beautiful yacht, including a Rolls Royce!

My daughter and I found the Yacht Delightful. We took the bus (very easy) from Old Town-maybe #11. It was about a 20-25 minute ride. Did not need to have tickets ahead of time-we walked right in int he afternoon-got there around 3. Audio tour was very good -we took a break in the middle to have tea on board... More

Definitely worth a visit!! The tour starts with a museum that briefly tells you the history of the yacht to then move on the boat that you will visit with a complimentary audio guide! It is all beautifully preserved and the audio guide is very helpful and interesting. There are many buses that from Prince's St brings you there in... More

Extremely well organised self-guided tour, the audio guide is very informative, gives plenty of details about every place on the Yacht but not in a boring way at all. To be honest I expected just a few royal cabins on display (didn't read any reviews prior to visit must admit) and was pleasantly surprised by amount of places available for... More

Despite what you might think of the royals this is a must see. Only £14 to enter and you can easily kill a few hours walking around. Britannia's history is everywhere from the ship itself to the people who sailed in her to her place in history. Just walking around and knowing the legendary people who have graced its halls.... All ships are nice to visit, but this one was particularly interesting. The ship is much larger than one would expect. It is after all, more than just a luxury yacht. It is a symbol of the United Kingdom. It is a fine, polished, grand old dame (though it isn't really very old) that one walks aboard and thinks about... More

Had no idea about this boat before visiting but enjoyed it immensely. The headset you get takes you on a journey around the ship where you learn a lot of interesting things about the royal ship and what went on there. Plenty of original artifacts and great for all sorts of people. Defintely a must see while in Edinburgh

So interesting. Really worth a visit. Cafe was pricey, but a great way to spend a good few hours. You are given a handheld information phone, you press the relevant number where you are on the yacht, and it tells you all about that area. Facts and history. Cool!

Got the bus out of the city to look a the yacht - glad we did as it is pretty special and well worth the visit. Plenty of Queen memorabilia and information to satisfy the visit. Boiler room pretty impressive as well ! Glad this has been kept for the nation.
