Fantastic from start to finish. Weather wasn't brilliant but being the typical tourist I opted to stay on the top deck even when it rained lol. So glad I did the views and photos were amazing. The guide was so informative and really fun to listen to. I would definitely recommend this to any visitor, I learnt so much in... More

Really enjoyed the hop on hop off tours. It was a unique way to explore the city and informative with the audio guides. The drivers were friendly too. Great for the family.

The hop-on/hop-off tour is outstanding. We got on the green one, and all the tour guides are so informative and interesting in telling the story of Edinburgh, and the bus takes you all around the city, from the Palace of Holyrood and Parliament on the east side, to the Grassmarket and by the tower. Would definitely recommend for tourists visiting... More

We bought a 48 hour ticket which included entry to Edinburg Castle, Holyrood Castle, The Royal Yacht Britannia & half price entry to the Glass House at the botanic gardens. Very good value & no queuing at the venues. Good commentary on the buses and the guide on the historic bus was both funny and informative. Money well spent.

I purchased a 48 hour travel pass for the 2 days I was too spend in Edinburgh. There were numerous stops all over town, and transport to all of the tourist attractions. Most routes had two bus choices, and never waited more than 15 minutes. Also commentary of Edinburgh history on most of buses. Money well spent

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
