We were only in Edinburgh for three hours so knew that we wouldn't have time to see everything so decided to go on the city tour on the green bus. It was £13.00 each for just over an hour and you have the choice to jump on and off . As we didn't have a lot of time we stayed... More

If you're lucky enough to get JIMMY and Barry the driver, you'll be in for a wealth of info and some good Scots humour thrown in. Enjoyed it immensely ... non stop detailed info.

Edinburgh bus tours run 4 different tours around the city visiting all the major sites. All you need do is pick what one suits you best and you're off. They have different tickets available with one that will get you on any bus tour so you can hop on and off any of their 4 tours. The buses are equipped... More

A standard tour around the city with a lovely old tour guide who had knowledge that no one can compete with. Top class bus was good would recommend as hop on hop off style gave us the freedom to stop and shop the tour at anytime we pleased.

Cannot praise these highly enough the customer service, the staff, the helpfulness and the information absolutely outstanding. I bought Royal tickets that included 48 hours hop on hop off travel on a variety of buses and included tickets to Holyrood Palace, Royal Yacht Britannia and Edinburgh castle - great value for money. The staff were fabulous in the midst of... More

Time was short so we took the bus tours to see everything. Some of the tours have a live guide, others a recording. Both told all we wanted to know about the history of the sites. Great way to see all!

Amazing value for money! The speakers are really good and definitely know their stuff! I would recommend these tours to anyone who wants to know more... More

There were several tours to choose from and we chose the bus and boat tour which was the longest and about three hours. There was a bus tour around Edinburgh which then headed to Queensferry where we boarded a boat that gave us a tour around the Firth of Forth. There was detailed histories of the Forth bridges and we... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
