The bus tours around Edinburgh are very good, lots of different types of routes to choose from, very well organised and well priced. Of course, it makes a great difference if the weather is nice. And it's really good to be able to get off, look around, then get on the next bus.

Last week me and my family bought the tickets for 24 hours with the Edinburgh Tour and we experienced different guides throughout the day. The last tour that we did was with our guide Madeleine and David the driver. The tour was very interesting and we found out a lot of information about the city and its history. Comparing this... This was our first experience of bus tours and we thoroughly loved it and learnt so much!! I would like to mention Lee who was hilarious (and a good little singer) and Stewart who was extremely informative, We certainly now appreciate much of what Edinburgh has to offer, stuff that we wouldn't even notice at street level. The price has... More

Went on the heritage tour as the ticket seller advised it. We wanted a live guide and we got Agnes, she was very informative and charming (even singing to us at one point), also gave us lots of advice on the various attractions which we passed. The driver was good and safe, didnt welcome us onto the bus though as... More

We went on the hop on hop off with Mac bus Tours and it was awesome! We had Roz (sp?) as the tour guide on the bus. She was terrific! Had humor and interesting facts to share. Do this!

It's an easy way to have an overview of the entire city (at least the center), hear a bit of history about it and then decide where to focus. I would suggest it especially if you have only few days. We did the tour on a sunny afternoon and it was lovely, I don't think I would suggest it on... More

We went on the Heritage Tour Bus [the orange & brown bus] on sunday 13th july 2014 at midday to see parts of Edinburgh we rarely see, and it was a very enjoyable tour and we saw nice and interesting buildings of which we took photos, and the tour guide Agnes was very good and gave lots of information about... We bought the 48hr 5 tour bus pass. All staff really helpful. Great way to see the city. We went all the way to Leith and you get some amazing views of the city (& discounts on attractions!).

We chose the big green bus as it has a live commentary, so much better than the dreaded earphones. On our first circuit, we decided to do the whole tour before decided where to get off to see more, our guide Hannah was knowledgeable and very entertaining. She answered all questions as well as bringing the city alive. The driver... More
