I will seek legal action against them. What they do is totally illegal in my country. They will charge you 0.01 pounds for, as they say, being sure you are not their "competition" who will overbook their busses and make them run out of bussiness. Out of compassion and stupidity I gave them my credit card number. Then I realized... More

This tour proved to be a brilliant complement to a longer tour we took with another company. While the other tour covered a lot of ground with too few stops (for my taste) in the nicest ones, this one went on a smaller circuit but stopped at all sorts of out-of-the-way places with names I had never heard of, giving... The wife and I had wanted to do a tour of the countryside outside Edinburgh during our visit. I saw the large amount of positive reviews for this tour and decided to give it a shot. Our tour guide, Donald, was very knowledgeable and I walked away from the tour with a lot better appreciation of Scottish history then when... More

Our friends live in Scotland and we went on the tour for her birthday and we were totally blown away by the experience,The Don (founder of the company) is a very entertaining, charismatic, intelligent & 3rd Generation hairy coo farmer, but decided to give other people the benefit of his vast knowledge of Scottish history (& hairy coos). We would... More

With so many excellent reviews already I knew I was on to a winner here. I live in Scotland and had already visited most of the places on this tour but, it was my birthday and my friends were up visiting from Hertfordshire, so I wanted to do something special and different for the day. Also I adore hairy coos!... More

Recently we were blessed to visit the UK, and had decided to allocate a few days to exploring Scotland. We researched different tours and the Scottish Highlands tour offered by The Harry Coo really sounded like what we wanted to see. We could not have made a better choice! Our tour guide (Andrew Brown) was great and we really enjoyed... More

My partner and I only had a day and half in Edinburgh, and we are glad we chose this bus tour. Our tour guide Don happened to be one of the owners/founders of the Hairy Coo, and he shared an amazing amount of knowledge about certain parts of Scottish history, especially about William Wallace (debunking the story told in Braveheart)... Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
