The hotell was expansive so we expected a better one. The guide Alan was excellent, funny and very competent. We wouldnt have had complanied if more scottish music were played on the bus, because we love bag pipes. The tour was excellent, the scenery was incredible

+ Excelent guide - Andy - good timing - touching all trip objectives - perfect approach for a quick tour for short trips in Scotland. - We've tried Taste option for Lochness & Highlands tour - will not recommend as food is really common probably using supermarket ingredients (traditional organic version expected ...)

First off, our tour Guide (Andy) was awesome. He was the perfect mix of historian, local guide, comedian, dj, and trip coordinator. He alone mad this tour worth going on. Second, all of our stops were very worthwhile and scenic while informative. I would strongly suggest the VIP whiskey tasting at the Famous Grouse Experience.

The games were amazing, the food was so tasty, especially the homemade cakes, and everyone was so open and friendly!

I went to Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle, the weather was lovely, so perfect to have good pictures. The tour guide was really good, I think his name was Duffy. Telling us story abour every place we were visiting, the national flower of Scotland, with Scottish accent, of course. You can tell that he knows well about his country. There... More

The 3 day tour to Skye was stunning in its beauty, creating great memories of our trip to Scotland. Nick, our guide, was excellent with the history of the highlands and in the telling of a few Scottish legends. We found it enjoyable to travel with our small group, a group of some 20 people from around the world. Our... More

We went on a three day tour to include Loch Ness Culloden Battlefield and Balmoral. Tony, our guide was excellent, with a wealth of knowledge and stories about the areas we were visiting. We were only a small tour of ten people, and fortunately they were all really nice, and we got on well. Scotland is very big, so there... More

The two night 3 day tour to Skye was a great introduction to the stunningly beautiful, rugged highlands. The first day involved a long coach ride, the second day included lots of walking and sights with the third day being a combination of travel on bus, train and ferry. Good walking and water resistant shoes are a must and an... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
