We live in Glasgow and find a sunny day to have a visit the park and castle. It is quiet and nice with a small zoo. If you are lucky enough, you may buy a baby rabbit. It is quite suitable for a family walk or friends walk for people live nearby.

What a great place this is. It's all free too. The park is lovely. The team room serves good food. I had soup for lunch and it was delicious. Hubby had sandwiches which he was very impressed with. The food is served to you too which is nice. The castle tour should not be missed. The guide was so passionate... More

Visited Dean Castle and Country Park last week with the family as part of our holiday up in that area. Very impressive place with free parking, free entry and free guided castle tour too! The moat part which is allegedly the best part of the castle is currently undergoing refurbishment so the tour is restricted to one side, but even... More

Fantastic afternoon out. Kids had a ball and didn't want to leave. Its totally free too!! They loved the playpark and looking at the animals and of course a nice walk in the woods.

We took our kids to Dean Castle Country Park after our 7 year old visited the park with his school and wanted us to see the place too. It was a pleasant day and we easily got the parking space. The park itself was lovely, very green and with very nicely maintained lawns. It is not as rugged as some... More

I love Dean Castle and Country Park but sadly have to agree with the previous review it has certainly changed over the last year or so. The rangers are nowhere to be seen and their offices all closed up. They used to have a great website of various fantastic events ran by the rangers, dying t-shirts with berries, pond dipping,... I used to be a frequent visitor to the Dean Castle Country Park but sadly the park in the last four years have acquired a very run down look about it. So many unfinished projects give you the impression that no one cares. Certainly in the last three occasions I have visited the park no warders were visible; before there... More

Visited yesterday for a picnic and to walk around the country park. Plenty of walks through the woods and the paths are in good condition, although the waymarking is rubbish. We'd have gotten lost countless times were it not for the map from the visitor centre. When following the green route we ended up at a river which we needed... More

The castle and grounds are very interesting and I'd recommend taking a tour. There are animals to wander round and see, and lovely places to walk. The playpark was good, definitely worth a visit to the park.
