Dean Castle and Country Park is in my home town of Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, Scotland. The park is 200 acres in size and has a selection of trails through woodland and by the river. The Castle isn't the grandest building Scotland has to offer but it is a complete building as opposed to a lot of the ruins that we... More

A guided tour of the Dean Castle is free. A wee friendly cafe for kids & outdoor picnic benches to be recommended. I love the deer park! If you are lucky enough to see the Barony Hall, there are quirky exhibits & dressing up for kids in medieval costumes & a visit to the minstrel gallery. Great fun. Also a... More

I visited Dean Park once again in April. I was with a friend and her dog and we had a very enjoyable long walk round about half of the park. It's a great place to visit for all the family. There's an excellent area with various animals an birds to take the children to visit and also a good at... More

I live locally within a 2 minute walk of the park, recently went a walk and was gutted to see that the majority of the tress that have been there for over 20 years tore down and left lying to rot due to not being "native" to the park. Ruined which was a very mature forest in several areas.

We visited here today after finding it on a free day out website. There is building work going on but its not too disruptive. The castle is ok, there is one main room with displays and a smaller room showing a video, two good swingparks on site , and the animal area. The main issue i had was that there... More

We visited Frankie and Bennys on 7th May 2015, we needed to get some lunch and choose here to eat as they were very helpful and would let me have a children’s portion to eat instead of an adult meal (as I cannot eat much). They never questioned it and were more than happy to serve me which made me... More

We visited here on 9th April after it was recommended earlier in the day by the staff at Dundonald Castle. I can honestly say we had an excellent day. There is free parking on site although it was busy when we got there and had to park on the road and it's free entry to the park and castle. We... More
