Nice little observatory, takes a short walk from the city centre. Very informative and nice guide, we were able to see solar flares on summer noon.

I went up here to see if they had an orrery, but they didn't, however the staff were very helpful telling me a lot about the history of orreries, where the nearest one was and showing me lots of interesting photographs; even their Halloween party snaps! Really lovely pair of guys working there, very helpful, knowledgable and (ironically?) down to... More

We used to watch the stars there whenever is it not cloudy out there. They have got excellent equipment and all for free. And the walk across Victoria park just cannot be more beautiful.

We discovered the observatory by accident and after a spooky frosty drive up the hill, we were pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm and welcome we received. Not many things in life are free now, but a chance to look at the moon and stars with high powered telescopes under the guidance of enthusiastic astronomers is one of life's rare treats.... More

We went there on a winters night, hoping to take a peak through the telescope. Unfortunately it was too cloudy - it seems conditions need to be absolutely perfect otherwise the telescope will be out of action during your visit. We wandered round for ten minutes, looking at the displays, then left. I now live practically next door to the... More

Me and the other half decided to come to the Mills Observatory for a "romantic date" however, sadly the clouds had been cast and there was nothing to see. Security told us we can have a look around which we decided to do since it wouldn't be a complete waste. There is very little to see; some telescopes with some... More

Not much to do here. Few things to look at when during the day. Nothing exciting at all. When you go at night during the right time of year then you can look through the telescope but be sure to check online for opening times to save a disappointing trip.

Wish we had an Observatory in Lincoln. This place is a hidden gem and well worth seeking out opening times. Really interesting even if youre not Prof Brian Cox!

We have never visited at night but during the day it is still very interesting for all ages. There is an interesting planet trail leading to it and Balgay Hill itself is well worth a visit.

Went to this after much nagging from me. I wanted to visit to relive my childhood. We were very pleasantly surprised. Excellent place for all the family to visit. Friendly and helpful staff and volunteers. We are certainly coming back in the winter!!!!!
