Went to this after much nagging from me. I wanted to visit to relive my childhood. We were very pleasantly surprised. Excellent place for all the family to visit. Friendly and helpful staff and volunteers. We are certainly coming back in the winter!!!!!

Friendly, enthusiastic extremely knowledgeable staff. What an incredible experience when they crank back the victorian mechanical ceiling to reveal the entire night sky. Not to be missed and it's free!

Went with 3 others after a quick look online to see what was about. Interesting place if you're into stars etc but limited things to look at in the day. Very small place, various different exhibits and a small shop type thing. Would have liked someone to talk us through things but there was a distinct lack of people about.... More

This month take yourself up to the Mills Observatory to see the wonders of The Universe. Breathtaking display. Make sure you go on a clear night. November is my favourite month for sky watching.

This place is genuinely magical. Friendly and enthusiastic amateur astronomers really make a visit to this special place come alive. What a privilege and treat to see the moon and the stars in such stunning detail. Dundee is so lucky to have this place.

It's better to park at the foot of the hill and walk the well lit road up to the observatory. Check the opening times as they vary with the year. There are always enthusiastic, knowledgeable amateurs there to demonstrate and answer questions. The observatory houses a rare papier mâché dome which opens and revolves. Children find this place magical.

We found the observatory very interesting and the staff extremely welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic. On the ground floor there is an exhibition explaining the solar system and other exhibits such as parts of the original telescope from the observatory. There is also a small shop selling a range of things from small mementos to telescopes. On the first floor is... More

If you're not taking a walk around the grounds then your visit will be short. There are also big crystal available to buy in the gift shop for over £200 if you want one. Be prepared with cash though because no cards are accepted. It's OK but it's a bit old and boring, and that's surprising coming from me as... More

This is a wonderful evening out. It is free and if you time your visit when the space station is in the area then you have the added bonus of seeing that as well. The staff are very informative and patient. I think they are mostly volunteers. There is a little shop where you can buy a momento of your... More

My kids love visiting the observatory and have done so on many occasions. They have had luckybtripsxwhen they have seen lots and others when the weather has been poor and they have not seen much. Staff are always helpful and polite.
