As a regular visitor to Jute City I have often seen signs to this museum and finally got round to visiting it. If only I had been earlier. It is a superb museum which is easy to understand for all ages and interests covering the technical work of the city's defining industry as well as its social impact and the... More

Based in a former Jute mill in the middle of "juteopolis", Verdant Works is a commemoration to a time that once was, when Dundee lead in the production on this heavy duty fabric which was then exported all over the world. A mixture of voice overs with mannequins, stories from the machines, international export and finally the downfall of the... More

An amazing and very educational visit - great for families. I have visited about 10 times with my family. I is also very interactive for adults and children alike and inspired my own daughter to start a project on the Victorian era!

Good to see, hear and experience the history of my home town. Very atmospheric and informative. Staff were friendly and no pressure to buy anything from the shop.

This museum gives a true feeling of what is was like to live in dundee in the 1800's and work in a Jute mill. the jute industry gave Dundee the mills and mansion houses and the tenements for workers that give the City its character today.

An excellent museum run be very knowledgeable volunteers. Definitely worth a visit and very interesting. Lily a former mill worker has brilliant knowledge having worked on the machines during her working years. Highly recommended to spend a few hours.

Had a fab visit here. Being a university student in Dundee, it is not particularly well advertised as being an attraction in Dundee. I appreciate that the place is run by volunteers which added to the experience :). Would recommend to older children and adults. There is not much to keep young children entertained. Fab little find in Dundee :).

With many relatives who worked in the Dundee Jute and associated foundry industries I have long wanted to visit the Verdant Mill and as we were staying nearby I managed to do so last Saturday (8 November 2014). We purchased tickets for the Verdant Mill only as we had visited the Discovery Centre some years ago. A joint ticket is... More

Displays, films, machines, all about Jute. What a facinating product and amazing sociological impact of the jute mills on Dundee. Get a joint ticket with Discovery point and you can revisit both attractions free within a year.
