I visited with my boyfriend (we are both mid-twenties): the weather was awful and i'd been wanting to visit after reading a book set in the time of the Jute Mills. I'd also recently found out my gran worked in the mills before becoming a cleaner in the 60s. The museum is excellent and at a decent price. You get... More

Went to see the Four Marys of Dundee here, a very appropriate setting which enhanced the play greatly. I have also been here in the day time to look around the museum, would recommend to anyone interested in learning about Dundee's fascinating jute history

We spent a wet morning at the Verdant Works, which comprehensively tells the history of the jute industry on which Dundee relied into the early part of last century. The museum is located in a former works, and is set out with interpretive areas and actual working machinery from the now-defunct works. There are also areas contrasting the lives of... More

It took me three hours to look round this fantastic museum. There is alot to see! I loved the old historical photos and real accounts of what it was like to work in the mill. I visited in January when it was very quiet.

Great to see a bit of history of old Dundee. It's like a mini museum telling the history of Jute and how many jute factories use to be around the area.

Here in Dundee for a few days so decided to pop into the Verdant Works. Impossible to "Pop in"! There was so much to see, beautifully presented and of great variety. Plenty for youngsters from puppets and dressing up to inter active information and rubbings. Lots for all ages. We are well travelled pensioners and know what we are talking... More

This is a fantastic place to visit to find out about working conditions and jute mills. The layout is very good and there had obviously been some new areas added recently. We really enjoyed Verdant Mill and would recommend it to locals or visitors. We bought joint family ticket with the Discovery, for £42 and paid with Tesco Days Out... More

Very interesting tour. Our G G parents worked in a jute factory in Dundee in the early 1900's it gave us a look as what the conditions were working there.
