I visit this place quite often but the visit is always soured somewhat by the staff being overly strict with rules when it comes to young children. I understand they are not to be allowed to clamber on exhibits or ruin other visitors experience but a frowning presence in the background is off putting!

So much to see, learn, admire and best of all with our needs, a fantastic disabled changing facility complete with full disabled toilet and changing bed! The cafe is scrumptious, staff are so friendly and a friendly haven on cold and windy days, I could go on but visit yourself and experience an educational and fun place to be!!

Museum is very informative and nicely laid out. Art Gallery is upstairs and contains some stunning pieces!! They also hold regular guest exhibitions from new artists, photographers and designers. So there is also something new to stimulate 'art hungry' folk! There is also a little art workshop for kids!! Staff are very helpful!

The building itself is magnificent. Great museum. Telling us a lot about history. And they once exhibit several scripts of Da Vinci.

We use the cafe on a regular basis and I thought time for a review. Todays visit we had Tea, Coffee, Sauasage Roll, Fried Egg Roll and a Cheese and Pineapple Toastie, yes class or what? The drinks were excellent and I thought of having bacon with the sausage roll. Glad I didn't because it has two substantial sausages split... More

Was recommended to see this whilst on a weekend break and it certainly did not disappoint! A beautiful building in itself it houses some incredible and varied artifacts and exhibits. We spent over 3 hours pottering amongst the galleries stopping off for a coffee in the lovely cafe on the ground floor. We were greeted by a lovely gent who... More

What a treat to have a beautiful facility like this slap bang in the city centre. The exhibits are interesting and well laid out. the facilities are great and always clean and the café is lovely. There is always a very warm welcome from staff when you go in. Well worth a visit.

The restoration and modernisation is sympathetic. I dropped in last weekend on a visit from darn sarf. The V&A collection poster art, a favourite genre of mine, was scary. The monstrous posters from the national socialist party are unbelievable. Also again enjoyed a quick tour of the painting gallery. A wonderful small local gallery of a high standard.

The McManus offers the best way to immerse yourself in Dundee history while also finding out what's happening now. It combines a lively collection of historical pieces while featuring the latest in modern art. The cafe is excellent and the shop has lovely gifts you won't find in the high street.

The Giles Gilbert Scott architecture is extraordinary, now brilliantly restored. The contents are striking - the Victorian Gallery especially.
