The restoration and modernisation is sympathetic. I dropped in last weekend on a visit from darn sarf. The V&A collection poster art, a favourite genre of mine, was scary. The monstrous posters from the national socialist party are unbelievable. Also again enjoyed a quick tour of the painting gallery. A wonderful small local gallery of a high standard.

The McManus offers the best way to immerse yourself in Dundee history while also finding out what's happening now. It combines a lively collection of historical pieces while featuring the latest in modern art. The cafe is excellent and the shop has lovely gifts you won't find in the high street.

The Giles Gilbert Scott architecture is extraordinary, now brilliantly restored. The contents are striking - the Victorian Gallery especially.

We visited with my 7 year old niece who loves the museum despite the fact that she has been numerous times. We had a bit of a whirlwind tour led by her! Fantastic displays which tell the history and story of Dundee so it was exceedingly interesting. It is great as a day out place to visit on rainy days.... More

Came here last Christmas when it was open doors. I am impressed with the refurb but also disappointed. I used to come here as a child & go to the "shop" display & the stair case was amazing. The only thing that made me smile was the bones of the whale have been put back up on the roof. Will... More

We were visiting Dundee on a wet November day for a morning meeting and were about to head back to the railway station when a Dundee friend, said - call in and see the refurbished McManus. So glad we did as it's a splendid mixture of the fine original building with 21st century improvements make it accessible and attractive. I... More

These galleries and museums were the subject of a major upgrade a couple of years ago and the difference is outstanding. Well worth a visit with very friendly staff who are only too pleased to see that you enjoy your visit.

Good collection and amazing architecture. Popped in while visiting the city with my partner for a look and thought that there was plenty to see and lots of cool dundee related exhibits.

Having spent many happy hours here as a child, I'm delighted to say 40 odd years on, the building is more beautiful than ever. Fantastic displays which tell the stories of Dundee and it's history as well as a magnificent collection of art! I love it and will bring my grandchildren (when the time comes! Thank you Dundee for changing... More
