The McManus is a beautiful building. It offers an eclectic selection of exhibits, from contemporary photography to rooms on the history of Dundee. Well presented, well curated.

Work round the corner from here so pop in regularly for a look. Sadly, I just about know each exhibit by heart. This is a well designed building and a simple viewing experience. For non locals, it is FREE. It is a good place to learn about the locality and its" history Plenty seats, and a cafe which is quite... More

I love McManus Galleries! The building is stunning and I have always enjoyed visiting, so when I was looking for somewhere to host my wedding reception it was a dream choice. We hosted our wedding meal in the gothic hall on Saturday August 2nd and it was sensational. The staff were amazing and served wonderfully tasty food with impeccable service.... More

I had finished early with my affairs and out of sheer curiosity I decided to make a visit. I adore museums and history but did not expect much however I was pleasantly surprised and it had exceeded expectations! I was quite ignorant regarding the history of Dundee and it is actually very rich. The first section (towards the left when... More

Firstly, The McManus is a lovely building, a Victorian work of art in itself. But it's not a stuffy old museum - it has been thoroughly modernised and refurbished inside and is full of interesting collections relating to Dundee's history and culture as well as important paintings and artworks. There's a decent cafe and shop too. You can spend hours... More

Story of Dundee told in an interesting way -- surprised at the quality and range of the art on display. Enjoyed a visit to the café -- sat outside to enjoy the sunshine.

I didn't have very long to explore the McManus today but liked what I saw, and I'll certainly go back when I have a bit more time. Probably next week. The building is lovely, well worth a visit for that alone, but I also liked the exhibits I saw. Some of the paintings are super. As far as I could... More

This was our second visit since the gallery was reopened after the major refurbishment and like the first one we were very disappointed. We had made regular visits to the Museum mainly in the 80s with out children and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The highlight of the visit was the old shop which brought back memories of things that I... More
