Enjoyed the exhibits, art displays and learning of the history of Dundee. Lovely building lovingly restored. Especially enjoyed the story of the two intrepid lady travellers and reading their newspaper articles of the world trip in 1894.

From its name it is not obvious what this building is or contains, neither is it obvious as to where it is in the city. The information makes much of its relationship to the statue but says very little actually about the statue, perhaps due to embarrasment. It contains a mixture of traditional and modern aspects of museums but we... More

During our shopping trip to Dundee we stumbled upon this lovely modern cafe by chance, whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. It is within the Mcmanus museum. It was clean, modern and the food was beautiful and fresh. We only had soup and a sandwich but both were really tasty and fresh, but there were plenty of other options... More

We had a great morning in the McManus. Cant believe we've lived near so long and not tried it before! Its great spot and a perfect free family trip out. The building is lovely - lots of pretty stained glass. Mix of exhibits is really good too - everything from modern art and photography (great photographs of the bridge when... More

The McManus Gallery is centrally located in Dundee and really is an undiscovered gem. The quality of the displays in the museum, and more particularly the art gallery is wonderful. The staff have a real appreciation for the work contained there and are delighted to chat to visitors. The building was purpose built in the Victorian age as a museum... More

The McManus takes an eclectic approach to Dundee's place in the world. Some of the displays and exhibits celebrate the city itself, looking at its history, industries and people. The focus changes throughout the museum, so on the top floor an exhibition explores how two indomitable ladies from Dundee set out to explore distant parts of the worlds and record... More

A great place to visit on a wet day in Dundee. Wonderful displays and knowledgeable staff. On of the staff showed us things in pictures that we would never have seen. Visit the cafe and try the soup for lunch make sure you look at the windows in the cafe.

I've been visiting this museum since childhood (1960s), and I always loved it, not so much since re-opening a few years ago though. Although this is still basically a good museum I think that they have made a mistake by removing some well loved exhibits such as the tenement room and contrasting Edwardian sitting room, also the interior of the...
