Lovely Day Out

Fantastic outdoor play area which kept the kids well entertained. Lots of space for picnic and walking.

Love Bowhill, but would be better if they could stay open longer. I know its winter, but kids (and adults) do play outside in winter and do like a cafe stop in winter too 😊 Hey ho not to worry it will soon be spring! Like I say I do love Bowhill.

A treasure worth visiting and the tour guides being so knowledgable make the journey through each of the rooms so interesting. You leave feeling you have stepped back in time and have learnt so much. We were lucky as there were only four in our party which meant Barbara our guide had time to expertly deal with all our questions... More

Have visited the excellent adventure playground with our granddaughter previously, and wanted to visit the house. Thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour and seeing the elegantly decorated rooms and artworks. The gardens are a treat with a great walk around the two ponds. Highly recommended. House only open on 10 and 24 Sept at 1pm and 2.30 pm, then closed for... More

It was over 35 years since I'd been to Bowhill - I didn't have great memories of it as I fell off the zip slide into a pool of mud and got my jacket all dirty! Luckily this time the memories are better! You pay the money to a very nice man on the gate who explains where everything is... More

The attraction was very easy to find. We were greeted on entrance to the estate by a very friendly gentleman to whom we paid our entrance fee. He gave us very clear directions to the various areas of the estate. We made our way to the courtyard to wait for the next tour to begin. We were taken around the... More

Terrific house, spectacular art and treasures, knowledgeable guide, beautiful grounds and walks, clean loos and a well-priced cafe with good food. All the staff were very welcoming - thank you, we had a lovely day ... good value too!

excellent guide, loved the China, paintings, furniture, silver. It felt as though it was a house that had been a happy home over the years. It's a delight for the younger children with the huge play area. The grounds are lovely but mare sure you wear comfortable sensible walking shoes. There are also Ranger guides at a small fee. The... Bowhill House is an example of a country house doing everything it can to attract visitors. There are lots of things for children including games in the courtyard, a great adventure playground, soft play (additional fee) and 'ranger' activities in the school holidays (additional fee). There are lovely, easy loch walks and the grounds are stunning. You have these mostly... More
