It was over 35 years since I'd been to Bowhill - I didn't have great memories of it as I fell off the zip slide into a pool of mud and got my jacket all dirty! Luckily this time the memories are better! You pay the money to a very nice man on the gate who explains where everything is... More

The attraction was very easy to find. We were greeted on entrance to the estate by a very friendly gentleman to whom we paid our entrance fee. He gave us very clear directions to the various areas of the estate. We made our way to the courtyard to wait for the next tour to begin. We were taken around the... More

Terrific house, spectacular art and treasures, knowledgeable guide, beautiful grounds and walks, clean loos and a well-priced cafe with good food. All the staff were very welcoming - thank you, we had a lovely day ... good value too!

excellent guide, loved the China, paintings, furniture, silver. It felt as though it was a house that had been a happy home over the years. It's a delight for the younger children with the huge play area. The grounds are lovely but mare sure you wear comfortable sensible walking shoes. There are also Ranger guides at a small fee. The... Bowhill House is an example of a country house doing everything it can to attract visitors. There are lots of things for children including games in the courtyard, a great adventure playground, soft play (additional fee) and 'ranger' activities in the school holidays (additional fee). There are lovely, easy loch walks and the grounds are stunning. You have these mostly... More

A huge estate with lots of interesting walks, a country house you can visit, a café and gift shop. If like us you're a family with young children however there is one reason and one reason only you'll have come here - the huge adventure playground! Can easily spend a couple of hours there. And every time we come they... More

My husband and I visited Bowhill on the way home from Hawick recently. Like everywhere else roundabout here, we received a very warm welcome from the gentleman at the ticket box to the tour guide. We even found an original wedding present in the gift shop. It was a bit sad to see we were the only people on the... More
