Had a very enjoyable lunch with excellent attentive service in the lovely surroundings of the Kailzie estate. Prices were good and food tasted delicious. The dining rooms were tastefully decorated and had a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely would recommend to locals and visitors to the area. Additionally The Larder shop had lovely handmade cakes and biscuits along with homemade chutneys and... More

I am very surprised by some of the poor reviews given for these gardens, however I cannot comment on the disabled facilities. However we were a large family group with a toddler and a pushchair and didn't find any difficulty getting around at all. The gardens are so beautiful. Very well maintained and a stunning array of plants including many... More

Paid to enter then went for lunch in the restaurant. Was told it was very good but could not agree. For vegetarian it's poor the only choice for hubby was soup as the cheese quiche was very strong cheese I had it it was okay. I agree with the review of 24th July - difficult for those with disabilities, wheelchair access up restaurant very poor. As for the toilets - least said about the "disabled" toilet the better, it's not enough to have a wider cubicle.

Nice gardens and excellent small tearoom with good service. Lovely walk by the river Tweed, and a choice of more formal gardens.

Poor definitely not suitable for disabled visitors pathways not wheelchair friendly. Disappointing all round and from the little we seen bears no resemblance to the website.

Many years visiting the Borders but a first in terms of Kailzie. Very reasnable prices to gain entry and on a beautiful day such as we had, it was a great way to spend an afternoon. The roses in the gardens were badly needing pruned and in amongst other wonderful plants, this looked out of place. Lovely gardens however and... More

Wonderful day out in the footsteps of my great uncle who I recently discovered was butler over 100 years ago at the now demolished Kailzie House. The gardens were magnificent and varied, rhododendrons, bluebell woods, blue poppies, walled garden, greenhouses. A lovely restaurant for lunch. Fascinating to think of my great uncle walking around here. Well worth a visit and... More
