Paxton has been a family favourite of ours for about 15 years now and we visit every year for our plants! Lovely tea room and amazing grounds make the visit complete for us. Truly wonderful place. Love it. More

This is a historic houses association property and there are another 10 within 30 miles including Bamburgh and Alnwick castles. It therefore makes sense to join if visiting this area. Otherwise the admission could seem a little steep in comparison to some other sites around here. However, I live in Paxton and so for me this was a must-see. The... More

At £20 for a family visit to the house and gardens I rate this as very good value. We sampled the riverside and woodland walks as well as homemade soup in the cafe and a brilliant guided tour of the house that had my 11 and 8 year olds entranced and full of questions which Val, the tour guide handled... while driving home from edinburgh we past a sign that said paxton house, i like places like this so we decided to go and have a look, and we were so pleased that we did what an amazing place!!! the place is steeped with history and the house has a really nice feel to it. the gardens are beautiful. while...
