The official signposted route I took was very steep in places ( there may be less steep ones ) , the view was worth the effort .

Liked the story behind it and it's lit up pink in the night. It's a very steep climb up tho but the views are amazing.

A steep walk to get to see this folly which had excellent views over Oban. Would have liked to have had more history about the folly at the venue rather than finding out about it in the War and Peace Museum.

Walk up the hill to this scenic spot up above the town, it's worth it for the fantastic views. Go back down the steps for a circular route.

Its quite a walk so take the car and park at the bottom of the park. Lovely views on a clear day and looks lovely when lit in the evening.

There's a romanticism involved in McCaig's Tower, a beauty and a serenity. The kind of creation that would not happen in today's world. Wonderfully located and gracefully built. A Gothic Victorian statement in a serene setting. Definitely worth a visit and the reward are the gorgeous views across Oban Bay to the Isle of Mull. Loved it!

Well worth the steep climb up to it. Might be worth taking a taxi up to it if you were not very fit but the beauty of it was worth the effort.

Interesting folly built at beginning of 20th century to resemble a coliseum. Visible on the hill above Oban and gives a great opportunity to take stunning photos of the town and the bay. Sadly the lighting has been mounted on high poles which foul many good shots. Strenuous walk but there is a car park for those who wish to... More

At first thought, one could be excused for thinking this is one mans monument to himself and his family. After visiting this site I have only admiration for this man; a local banker built it to give local stone masons work in winter and encourage the arts. Lots of trees and and sweet smelling bushes makes it an ideal spot... More
