The place is about 5 minutes from anywhere in Oban and can been seen from most places as well as it is on a hillock. A very doable climb takes you to the top and you can feast on amazing views of the water and the town. Took some nice photos from here and takes about half hour to look... More

We went to Oban with my stepson, his wife & family to see where they had been married 9 years previously - at McCaig's Tower. It was a very robust uphill walk but well worth the views when you get to the top. It was a pity the weather wasn't so good - but that's Scotland for you - unpredictable!... More

It's an easy walk. Don't be put off. Only the most obese will struggle up the hill. Beautiful views once there. And very well kept gardens. To my pleasant surprise the local kids have refrained from spraying the tower with graffiti. You also get to walk past some lovely houses on the way up.

Well worth trying to went your way around the windy (as in constantly changing directions not as in very breezey) streets. Stunning views. Only downside is, as usual, irresponsible dog walkers.

It is quite a steep climb up to this attraction but it is well worth it. The views are fantastic over Oban and the ferry terminal, we watched lots of activities on the water.

Easy to find and with free parking the tower offers some of the best views of the town and bay. The tower itself is lovely. A must in Oban.

Most reviews of the tower fail to mention that you can drive to the base of the tower and walk up a flight of steps or a long ramp to reach the tower. The steps are fairly easy to negotiate and have a hand rail.
