Oban War & Peace Museum is definitely worth a visit if you are in Oban. Museum has a fascinating collection of artifacts and photographs depicting the cultural history of Oban and its residents as well as information on the fishing and maritime industries. We spent an hour or so visiting this museum while on a day trip by rail from Arrochar. The museum is very interesting and includes a lot of displays about the role of Oban during WW2 when it was major training port for the naval protection of the Atlantic convoys. Hi, Indeed I found that Oban's museum of War & Peace a very cute and interesting one, well composed and set, in a very well located place and with a good installation and attended by very friendly and helpfull people and right away facing a very beautiful and well combined landscape-seascape. Popped in on a recommendation from a friend and were glad we did This is a wee gem ( and is free admission ) with masses of exhibits on show & a DVD film showing a more modern Oban Museum is staffed wholly by volunteers who are very helpful & approachable and have a great knowledge on the area Well... very good layout and a lot of photos and medals,very interesting with a video playing at the rear,the 2 volunteers at the dest were very helpfull. It is free to enter and a donation box if you enjoyed your visit.clossed end of November until March

A very informative museum. Great for out of Towner's like ourselves to gather some local knowledge. Great location too.

This museum is run by volunteers, who do a good job with the displays, they also seem to have a good knowledge of the content. Well worth a visit

Well worth the visit. Small, but packed with a great variety of artefacts that should interest young and old. Children are encouraged to take part In a challenge to find several items on display and rewarded when they complete the task ....... Helped along the way by the volunteer staff.
