This was a second visit and we found many changes. Opening hours are not always as displayed but that's due to staff availability as they are all volunteers. Mixed exhibits well displayed but rather cramped in the rooms. Staff were very helpful and very knowledgeable. It can get very busy especially if the rain comes on! Worth a visit if... More

Interesting hour spent in this museum. Free entry and loads to see. The staff were very informative though one was nursing a heavy cold which we subsequently caught too. Would recommend this little museum as it really has some great characters that know their stuff.

The very nice folk at the Museum are extremely knowledgeable and a real hoot. We laughed as much as we learned. It was obvious that the guides loved what they do, had a real desire to convey interesting facts and have fun while they did it. One gentleman in particular swapped my cowboy hat for his and we had a... More

We visited here on a rainy afternoon. Quite a small museum but very interesting. We went in as my friend is very interested in history and particularly likes WW1 & WW2. If history isn't your thing, it's still worthwhile as it has a lot of very old pieces of maritime equipment and old uniforms. It was a very pleasant way... More

Although the museum is relatively small it is packed with interest and well located on the seafront. We enjoyed a couple of hours there on a very wet day.

Just a couple of rooms make up this museum with not much spare space left on the wall. The enthusiastic volunteers have made every effort to show off as much information as possible. It is free (but donations are welcome) and unless you are into military history then you’re likely to go AWOL rather quickly.

We stumbled across this little museum whilst strolling around Oban and spent about an hour there. Some of it I didn't find particularly interesting as a lot of it was to do with local people during the war (which you would expect I suppose) but the film about the area itself was very interesting and we learnt quite a bit...
