The museum was next door to the hotel. Free admission. Clean and tidy. Very warm and friendly welcome. Very interesting history. Lots of pictures and memorabilia. We were fascinated!

From outside it looks like a very small museum of maybe only 1 room. Once through the door however, it rivals Dr Who's tardis. How they have so many fascinating things on show, and they tell me they have twice as much they cannot show due to lack of space. I went in thinking I would spend about 15-20 minutes... More

We visited Oban today, a lovely little harbour town with some beautiful shops. We popped into the museum and were amazed at the number of artefacts they had! Really friendly and informative staff were on hand and were happy to tell us more about the many medals and photographs they had. Lovely little museum and all for free (obviously we... More

Our friends, who live locally, took us to this little gem. Everything Oban-related can be found here. The guides (volunteers) are extremely knowledgeable and courteous. There is no admission charge, but you will want to purchase their DVD and make a contribution.

Only small but lots packed in and very informative. They have one of the original poppies from the Tower of London exhibition which is nice to see.

A small museum but packed with exhibits and stories about the area and its role in war which was quite considerable, from little details about individuals to larger war time events. It's somewhere to revisit as apparently they do not have sufficient space to display all of their collection so regularly change their displays.
