Great base for sight-seeing in the local area. Friendly, helpful staff, clean room, GREAT shower, decent Spa facilities for those who want them and brilliant social areas with beautiful sea-views for lounging. Very modest bar prices for a hotel. A full Scottish Breakfast will keep you full until dinner-time! I was with my elderly mother who just loves the place,... More

We arrived early on Friday afternoon but the room wasn`t ready so we had a drink in the lounge and were impressed at the level of service we received. This level continued throughout our stay. The staff are attentive but not intrusive, the food is of excellent quality, the lounge service is good if you don`t want a full meal.... More

Cracking good location to go and chill, also good local attractions shops and a walk up the hill to the McCaig's Tower is well worth the effort as the views are stunning Friendly welcoming staff also make the visit worthwhile

Second visit to this hotel in 18 months and really wouldn't think about staying anywhere else in Oban. Yes, the frontage of the hotel looks a bit old, tired and dark but it is very comfortable indeed. On booking, we requested the same room as our previous visit and that was not a problem. The food is very good indeed... More

We stayed here for two nights. The good part is that the hotel is bang on the sea front - has a really nice view of the bay if you have a bay facing room, that is. Its on the quiet side of the small town - so that's good. The staff are particularly helpful. we found the reception lady... More

This hotel in general is lovely inside, great views, newly refurbished lounge/bar. Very friendly staff, food more than excellent. This is also an old hotel, with yes as per previous reviews, lack of parking, dangerous parking, long corridors, and lots stairs, but I'm not sure how a hotel could get around these issues. Overlooking these issues, which can't be solved... More

If you expect what the name promises you might not get what you expect. Starting outside, the parking situation is a bit complicated. Once you get into the hotel, you have to master three flights of stairs which are covered with a carped that clearly has had a rough time so far (spilled drinks in several places, worn out in... We stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights last weekend. The hotel is lovely if perhaps a little tired in places. We arrived late in the evening, and there was no parking left as the hotel was full. We ended up parking for the weekend behind the cathedral next door, although the hotel had advised us to go to... The hotel is right on the sea front in Oban but, fortunately, on one of the quieter roads. It is a bit of a hike (on foot) from the station but has comfortable rooms, helpful staff and a decent restaurant. The hotel has a full set of spa facilities (not tried) including a hot tub out front! It caters for... More

Just returned from our fourth visit to this wee gem. Yes the rear of the hotel is a bit dated but it's clean and comfortable, the staff are fabulous, the food delicious and the location second to none! In the words of Arnie.....
